  1. converted to dual G275 units now have about 15 hrs. learning on the GTN 750 with dual G275 units. units work great, one main complaint is on the HSI Vertical Guidance information provided during an approach is small, its basically just a dot, on the right side of the instrument, when compared to our old king HSI its not easy to read and a lot harder to read when your busy doing an approach. Any body else have comments, maybe a soft ware upgrade some day
  2. got name wrong its a lemo connector, can see that is to be treated with care, but really enjoy the way its works
  3. got tired of replacing batteries in my Bose noise canceling head set, during an avionics upgrade converted to a faro adapter for the headset, was really surprised on how well that simple conversion worked out, no more battery change out and as soon as master is switched on, instant noise elimination and no more inflight battery change outs. now to do the co pilot side
  4. agree pulse width is the way to go, sixty's teck has been surpassed by todays technology
  5. does any body have a schematic or the best place to obtain schematic wiring, that shows wire to transistor power regulator wiring in rear avionics compartment, 3 wires tie into the regulator for panel pad lighting on early ovation
  6. thanks for the information, this is the 4th time we have had the unit( a 1960 design) go bad over the years, transistor cant handle the load, over heats nice to have lights when doing night flying. a top notch avionics shop recommend a faa approved unit, Seaton Engineering Mini dim units, for panel lighting, resettable and can handle all types of lighting from led to old fashion light bulbs. time to update to a newer design.
  7. hear a loud pop when using dash pad lighting was turned full up, there appears to be two parts of the control ckt for a early Ovation, the reostat on right side of panel and the transistor control unit to provide adjustable power to the pad lights and instrument panel lights. can some body provide location of transistor control unit for lighting.
  8. that little blue button is awesome, while learning on how to use the GFC 500 and what happens, pressed the button after take off and the auto pilot sprung into action. allowing air craft clean up.
  9. low voltage in flight, sounds like alt. over haul time, turn on lights and watch amp output, should jump up to match load. load system down and output should go up to compensate for added load, have lost 3 alternators while in flight, learned how to shed power real quick. lucky to have 2 batteries
  10. yaw damper operation works great, was surprised how much difference it made on our long body, have no regrets
  11. always looking for places to go. it would be nice if we had a travel section where to do a fly in for that $100 dollar hamburger. if we use the following format ( took it from Beech site) List: air port name-identifier. Porterville ca. PTV Restaurant Name-style. out side dinning taxi right to to restaurant Review. Lots of local low key great burger
  12. don't know about the 540 but the io550 seems common item around a 1000 hrs many have been replace including ours, install a complete set of cylinders, balanced with pistons complete from continental
  13. also the GFC 500 talks to the G275 units, heading and alt. information. the only negative is the lack of Garmin video's for the G275 operation as a system, there are plenty of G5 video's available and Garmin logic and display information helps when reviewing/ training information, as aggressive as Garmin is, Garmin hopefully will fix that issue in the near future
  14. they talk to each other, just set bar is the only time we touch the 275s have to understand that we have the gtn 750xi, gfc 500 and dual 275 units, that the beauty of the Garmen system when its integrated, it evens loads the frequency for the approach, just activate. The system take's some time to learn and doing it smoothly is taking some practice so we are still learning and have a way to go yet
  15. IMG_0498[6902] - Copy (2).HEICagree with other comments, getting used to the new system and comfortable with the system takes learning and practice, IMG_0498[6902] - Copy (2).HEIC the beauty is in the design, using G275's with GFC 500 and XI 750 is the way it work together. we now features we have wanted for a long time. Only time we have to touch the 275 is to set the baro. love alt. climb to and hold, descend function and the list goes on
  16. WE INSTALLED TWO g275 units with air temp to get added functions, one of those gotcha items , that added $ to project. but once paid for pain goes away when bells and whistles are installed and flown ' temp probe add about a days work as wiring goes thru wing
  17. THANKS , ALSO LEARNING gfc 500 AND GTN 750 AND GARMIN PILOT, ITS AN NEW WORLD PILOT IN TRAINING
  18. WE HAVE HAD TO REFER TO g5 INSTRUCTIONS before, GARMIN IS MOVING SO FAST that INFO FOR g275 IS NOT AVAILABLE and now we have G275 mod 1 installed. thanks for info, PILOT IN TRAINING
  19. MISSPELLED WORD SHOULD BE PIT MESSAGE FOR GFC500. PILOT STILL IN TRAINING
  20. on the G275 read out we get the word PIT MESSAGE which comes on when auto pilot is switched on/ off. Garmin does not explain what this is, panel has G275,GTN 750 and GFC 500. Since we are still learning this fantastic system, thought it meant PILOT IN TRAINING. WILL SAY THAT WHEN ALL THE GARMIN PIECES ARE PUT TO GETHER AND WORK TOGETHER, IS A BEAUTIFY FULL SITE
  21. we use the clock every flight, we have a Mid Con clock with Dual 5 amp USB ports, our way of using a clock and during ck ride we have been asked for One minute holding pattern, even if we have a gtn 750 showing the pattern
  22. servos sold to lancescasper , thanks every body
  23. the 3 king servos ks177 pitch servo, complete over hauled motor/clutch assembly about 20 hrs. on unit,( believe we spent about $2500 for overhaul) the other 2 servos are ks 178 prim servo and ks 179 trim servo both in good working condition. asking price $750 +25 for shipping
