Gary R. Jones

I built 3 kitplanes and was one of the editors of Kitplanes magazine for over 20 years. My last was a Glasair Super IIS that I owned for 17 years. I bought my 1989 Mooney 201 in October 2017. I have since put over 500 hour on it. I have made several significant upgrades to this plane including the Monroy fuel tank mod, paint and avionics. Because of the serial number I took advantage of the Service letter that allowed me to increased the Gross weight by 160 pounds. I am a A&P and do most the maintenance myself. I worked for a large Cessna Affiliate in aircraft sales. I sold everything from the Skycatcher to the Caravan. In addition to being in sales I taught the Garmin 1000 and delivered aircraft all over the country. Cessna makes a great airplane. It simply did not meet my mission requirement; this is why I own a Mooney 201.
