  1. Hi Dave! No. UMA said they could make the transducer, and we sent them the specs. They promptly said they could not make it. Kulite said they could make me one, but I had to buy five at $7020.00 each. JPI customer service was so bad, I decided to go with EI and put in a whole new engine management system. Solved the problem.
  2. This thread save me a ton of money and effort. My cowl flaps stopped working. Thinking about the oil and where the filter is, having oil contaminate the motor made sense. With the power to the plane off, I simply sprayed contact cleaner onto, into, and around the motor. Sure enough, the runoff had oil in it. I noticed that the silicon that protects the connections to the micro switches had degraded, so I sprayed more contact cleaner into that area and more oil came out. I let the contact cleaner dry and applied power. Voila! Motor was back in business! I applied high heat silicon to the connections to seal them back up and put the cowling back on. Everything is working perfectly.
  3. The Kulite is part number: APT-153-1000-30psig
  4. Well ... UMA couldn't build the transducer with the specs provided, despite saying they could when I talked with them. Time to sell a kidney. Disappointing.
  5. My transducer (Kulite) is welded shut. So, on the chance the vent was the issue, we found some very, very small drill bits and brushes. We cleaned out the vent and tried again. As soon as the transducer touches anything grounded, the needle pegs to full pressure. We think there is an internal wire that is loose or broken. Since we can't open it, and the wires are attached with some magical plastic substance, we've gone ahead and ordered the new transducer from UMA. Should be here shortly, and I will keep you posted on the cost of the unit as well as if it works or not.
  6. Thank you, Jim! That was exactly the information I needed. I'll post again after getting the UMA transducer and let everyone know how it went.
  7. My APT-153-1000-30psig transducer has also failed. Apparently, fuel pressure transducers for Mooney's are made out of unobtainium. EI has a 6 to 8 week waiting period for the cluster gauge, or an extra $500 to get it in a week. JPI customer service stinks to high heaven (their sales woman was bitter, crass, and made me want to hang up the phone) and you have to sell a kidney to buy the 900 series to get the TSO'd fuel pressure. UMA has a replacement transducer and gauge for a fraction of the cost. But, they need the electrical specs for the original Kulite transducer, which I have not been able to find. Specifically, I need to know what the electrical output is at zero fuel pressure, 50% fuel pressure, and 100% fuel pressure. With this information UMA will be able to set up a TSO'd transducer for those of us who have the Kulite installed. Any of you tech wizards out there have this information?
  8. If the door slide (steward) is operational, I would be interested in it. How much?
