  1. Again does Mooney ever read Mooneyspace and reply? It would be nice to hear from them since the last word I got was it would be ready by the 2nd quarter of 2016.
  2. I have a 2005 M20R with G1000 STEC 55x with serial # 29-0342. My airplane was actually built in Dec. 2004 but since it came with the G1000 it is called a 2005. So there may be a few more M20R's with G1000's than you think. So am I to understand that Mooney had nothing to say at OSH.
  3. I have a 2005 M20R with the G1000 With an STEC 55X and I am also looking for a solution from Mooney. It almost sounds like they are not going going to do anything about it. Does Mooney ever read and respond to Mooeyspace?
  4. Any news from Mooney while at OSH on the WASS upgrade or ADSB software with the Garmin transponders.
  5. After reading this I called my insurance broker D.R. Cox & Company (Jeff) and told him what I had read on Mooneyspace. I have a 2005 Ovation with G1000's and let him know that they give and oral warning, gear, gear, gear and stall, stall, stall not just a buzzer that goes off. Jeff recommended that I when I fill out my next insurance form in 2 months that I add that note on it as it will help in negotiating for a lower quote for my new insurance policy. Jeff also informed me that Mooney's were not the problem with gear up landings it has mostly been Bonanza's. I have used D. R. Cox (Jeff) for many years when insuring my M20J and now my M20R and I am very happy with his quotes. My friends have also used him and have been happy. In case your interested in calling for a quote on your next Aviation Ins. Policy his phone number is 865-588-2448.
  6. I had a 1980 m20j and the clubs fit with know problem. Take the woods out, driver, 3wood, 7wood and with the handles first place them in the opening on the floor between the back seat where the toe bar fits, club heads angled uptowards the baggage door. Place the bag bottom first in angled from the back seat to the hat rack and close the door.
  7. Adjust your cowl flaps so that when they are pushed fully closed they should be adjusted to 1/4 in. open that helped me with high CHT's it might also help you with air flow through your oil cooler. If that works you should replace the left cowl flap with the same one as the right having the opening for the exhaust pipe on both sides (better air flow) and then you can readjust the cowl flaps so when closed they are tight against the cowling. This all worked for me and I had my 1980, 201 for 30 yrs.
  8. I had the same problem on my 201, on the back of the key switch mooney uses spade connecters, you have to go under the panel with a screwdriver and push all the spade connecters back on tight on the back of the switch. This will not be a permanent fix you will have to do this every time you see your ammeter start jumping around and I had my 201 for about 30 yrs. so you can plan on doing this once a year. This was not one of mooneys better ideas.
  9. I just bought an 2005 Ovation with the G1000 and really like it. I had a 201 with a 530W before and really thought I'd miss the waas, vertical guidance is great but the minimums on a GPS approach are not much different than waas. I found the G1000 has it all over the steam gages. The last word I got from a good source says Mooney is looking at about 19K once they certify the G1000 with 55X for waas in the 2nd quarter of 2016. Right now I really don't know if the waas is worth it.
  10. I had the same problem with my 201 check the battery voltage before start up you will probably find it low but it will start. I sent the JPI 700 back and they downloaded my last flight and saw a momentary voltage drop. they recommended I get a new battery and that solved the problem.
  11. I bought a 2005 m20r with g1000s, does anyone know where Mooney would have put the enablement cards for the g1000, I can't find them anywhere
