  1. Here's the graph of the EIS data collected during the flight
  2. on the 750, once you load and activate a VOR approach procedure, it will load the VOR's frequency into the VLOC radio, automatically identify and translate the morse code, then you can hit the CDI button to change the CDI from magenta (GPS) to green (VLOC). what other buttons are you pushing?
  3. curiously, why would you buy a bruce's cover for a plane you had already sold?
  4. Just IAS. Since they have fixed the static put leak, I’m now wondering if there’s a problem with the pitot,
  5. I found a guy who can fix it. his shop rate is $92/hr so its probably not worth it. after I "lost" the ICOM, I bought a YAESU, which I hate.
  6. So I visited the avionics shop today and did a test flight after they had fixed the static port leak mentioned above. IAS oscillations are still occurring. Here are two videos I made of IAS and VS modes IAS mode @120KIAS VS mode @800FPM
  7. Went to the Avionics shop today and this issue is now fixed. With the 10" G3X CB pulled, the FD/AP can be controlled from the G5, GFC500 mode controller, or the G3X 7" MFD The tech said that all they did was upgrade the software, same as @PT20J
  8. Met @Little Dipper today at MQS where he was parked in front of me
  9. There’s a lot of ways to configure the screens to your liking, and it is more compact and color coded.
  10. Yes. Same for me. there is no way to withdraw a medical application. It’s either granted (SI or regular), or denied.
  11. So, I came across an ICOM A-22 in a box that I lost maybe 15 years ago. It seems to be dead, using fresh batteries (tested). ICOM has it on its list of no-longer-supported models. Any thoughts where I might find someone to take a look at it?
  12. yes, mine are from the late 70s
  13. Yes, the GTN750 doesn't crossfill to the 355. So its more like a standby rather than an integrated system. Supposedly there is an update for the 355 in the works to remedy.
  14. so are you proposing local control of medical certification for the national airspace?
  15. 100% true, and moreover, not every medical situation is the same and not ever AME knows all the rules/processes
  16. so you get more efficient service from your state DMV?
  17. I went this way, with a GTN750xi NAV/COM/GPS and a GFC355 COM/GPS, based on the insanely low probability of my ILS receiver being OTS simultaneous with a GPS outage
  18. if I can be morbid for a minute, can I ask if you will be thinking on your death bed "gee, I'm glad I died with 60K extra in the bank instead of upgrading my mooney"?
  19. I don't think this is a case of "your tax dollars at work" because medical certification (of some kind) is necessary to ensure safety in the skies. id put it in the category of "petty bureaucracy"
  20. so, the reason BasicMed came about is because Congress was not able to reform the FAA medical process in Part 67 based on lobbying from EAA and AOPA because of counter-lobbying from ALPA and NBAA, which didn't support reducing any medical requirements. So Congress just made an entirely new set of regs Part 68 (Basic Med), and took it out of the FAA medical division's hands.
  21. my window was only 30 days, and my AME told me that no matter how long their process takes, the FAA will accept results that are within the window.
  22. that PDF tries to be comprehensive, but some too specific ( eg 17.5GPH @75% power -- at what TIT?), not specific enough (eg "I = INSTRUMENTS (SET AND OPERATIONAL)" which instruments?), or theoretical (34"/2400RPM @130KIAS for +1000FPM) "RUNWAY ITEMS: LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION" -- does anyone turn off their digital transponder anymore? better to leave the transponder on and on the runway sync the heading bug to RW heading and hit the TOGA button.
  23. I looked it up too https://www.boldmethod.com/learn-to-fly/regulations/ifr-cruise-clearance-how-to-fly-with-it/
  24. this is the controller you want
