  1. Looks very interesting but don't see anything about one for a 520... I would like to know if anyone has an electronic ignition system for my Rocket?
  2. Mike, I am thinking Trey, a retired Judge from Galveston, that gave me a ride from my motel to the airport one day seemed to be a great guy paid about $400 if memory serves me correctly, then donated it to the Mooney Museum! After Don signed it of course!! Someone feel free to correct me if my memory is erroring!
  3. You guys are too much... I tell you no sympathy here, thats for sure!!
  4. Now that aint even funny!!!!! Well maybe it is if it is the Mini FAA!
  5. Don, that was my backup plan and I hope to work on it this evening. I did order a replacement from Europe but just in case I am going to try and make one. My thought is that I will need to thermoform it with vacuum. Thanks for the interest and input. Hope your world and plane are getting along. Did you find out what occurred with the oil in the cylinder yet?
  6. HEY Hey hey there Bob & Jim.... Whats up with HIGHJACKING MY thread with YOUR ridiculously low fuel flow compared to my Rocket.... Well just for the record I can taxi at just slightly less than 8.3GPH so there, take that.... Hurts my feelings.... (well not so much that I would trade! Sunday from Kerrville to Granbury was solid IMC, moderate turbulence with one event that flipped me on my side enough to disengage the autopilot, great experience (glad I did not have any passengers to get excited if you know what I mean!). I came home from Granbury yesterday with an average of 34kts head wind and a true airspeed of 187 - 190 kts TAS at 16 GPH!!!! what would have normally been a 2 hr 15 min was 2hr 50 min... appreciate my blessings we made it safe and that is all that really counts! Fly safe,
  7. Man I hear you.... boy do I hear you!
  8. Was so careful getting the Mini Me to the Homecoming..... but on the way home stopped to drop my mother-in-law off and slid my seat back to let her out and crushed the canopy .... ARG (not exactly what I said but you get the idea!). I have ordered a replacement, not sure if it can make it here in time from Europe for next week AOPA Mooney Ambassadors display but we are going to try. May try to make one myself if I can build a small thermoforming setup. I was so mad at myself...!!!#!$%!#@
  9. Just curious how many from Mooneyspace attended the MAPA Mooney 2014 Homecoming in Kerrville TX this last weekend? Also what did you think of it? Would you attend again? Would you attend again as early as next year? What did you get out of it? Full disclosure I am not with MAPA, not with Mooney Co just curious and interested in feedback. In my 30 years of flying counting the Formation Clinic in Yuma a few weekends ago this was my second ever fly in event.
  10. Count me in for the San Marcos & the Formation Flying!!! oh yea YOU have me working at both......!! Se ya there my friend... On the way home today I slid my seat back in the Rocket and crushed the Model Canopy... ouch I was really mad at myself! Trying to get another one or figure out if I need to make one on my own before the San Marcos event!!! See ya!
  11. Hey how do you turn these images 180?
  12. Mooney Rocket N1016U & Rocket N1016UJR first appearance at the Mooney Homecoming 2014. Great time but more great people, great info!
  13. Congrats World Famous!
  14. Thanks it was... is still a great challenging work in progress.
  15. Sorry I missed it had some trouble with my old bucket of bolts.... on the way held up most of the day but I'm back in route hopefully now Lord willing see you all tomorrow.
  16. Way late in the game I'm in granbury headed to kerrville in the morning, I sent u a text. Again don't know how to work it out last minute but your welcome to give me a call!
  17. No started with a kit, but the final model as you see it was scratch rebuilt if you will to include retractable gear, lighting removable access panels front and rear (a must for any complex model. There were a set of full scale prints again less than adequate in my beginning experience level. Thanks for your interest.
  18. Like you I searched and searched the only kit I ever found was by GM Plastics and it is no longer made... There is a person here on Mooneyspace who has one but I have been unable to talk him out of it so far!!! I purchased the kit from a place in Europe, however the kit has a lot to be desired and this model is HIGHLY modified. Check out the two posts in the Fourm it has the details of the kit I started with. The rest I shot from the hip so to speak. Still not done yet but we are getting close. Yes I intend to fly it. Thanks for your interest let me know if you build a model would be great to swap stories and ideas.
  19. Now we are starting to get this thing moving as I knew it would.. It will be a great experience I am sure! Lord willing I will see Bucko this weekend and see if we can narrow down some dates etc. Thanks everyone, looking forward to seeing and flying with you all!
