I have some work to do in Harleysville, PA when I get back from Bangladesh and I have settled on Perkiomen (N10) which is about 7 miles southwest of the town.  Trip is scheduled for the 17th of September.  We depart on the 20th.

Two questions to those who may know:

1.  Is this the best choice?  (I do not have a WAAS GPS, so I am limited to a non-precision GPS approach if IFR)

2.  If it is the best choice locally, has anyone been there and do you have a PIREP for me?

I have been there. It has a narrow runway (around 40 feet wide) and the approaches are all circle to land. If I were to come in on an IFR day, I may choose Hertiage (KPTW) or Wings (KLOM). Otherwise, it is like many other small airports in the area.

Come into Kukt, I'll host you. Only a couple of miles further then N10, it is also more convenient and faster to get to harleysville from here

Marauder and Brian:

Thanks for the info.

And for Brian, thanks for the offer.  Done.

Enterprise car already arranged for pick up at Fowler.  I hope to be wheels down at KUKT between 2:00 and 3:00 pm on the 17th (WX gods cooperating of course).

The FBO is now heartwood, (good people) I'm getting back in town from Reno on the 16th, not sure what my schedule will look like but either my wife or I will meet you when you get in.

Pm me and I'll give you my number

Got the info I needed.  Hijack away (the tread of course).  If they do have a good breakfast, it is too bad (almost) we are going to be wheels up on the Friday afternoon.

By the way - Perkiomen got back to me with their parking fees for a tie-down for the three days.  $30.00 per night.  Ouch.

The cafe closed last yr, so there is no food on the field. There are plenty of restruants just down the road but none with in walking distance. Usually there is some one around that will help you go get food and some places will deliver to the airport (mostly pizza).

Update:

Made it to Quakertown and Brian was a great reception committee. He even had a friend look at a COM 2 problem that turned out to be a disconnected coax.

I took some of my course students (non-aviation-related training) up after class yesterday (pictures later) and they were thrilled. Doing the Mooney Ambassador "Fly it Forward."

Now for a question. Have a look at how they modified my IFR flight plan as I was entering the Allentown sector on http://flightaware.com/live/flight/CFSWR/history/20130917/1800Z/KSYR/KUKT. What is with the deviation all the way out to ARD before heading for the NDB to commence the approach?
