Found this high temp anti-seize compound for lubricating exhaust systems. Looks like the pure nickel product is the correct one, some of the others have copper which can set off dissimilar metal reaction/corrosion.

Being anti-seize instead of penetrant oil, i am xpecting it to stay on the joint longer.

Anyone tried it?

With bolts in high temp locations on the gas turbines I work with (non-aviation) we use a Permatex nickel based anti-seize. At comparable temperatures, this stays "wet"...does not burn off.

Be careful with it for cleanliness reasons. Minimal amount on the area or interest. Wipe the excess and throw away that cloth. Handle with gloves to keep your hands clean and watch what you touch. This has the habit of a little bit getting everywhere when you get any of it on anything. It does not like to wash out of cloth, like your clothes, seats and carpet. I hate working with this stuff because I I get home and find dabs of it all over my clothes.

We were just talking about this at the airport yesterdy. TCM recommended mouse milk to me.

Yes, Mouse Milk is the best. It will penetrate into the wastegate valve very well. It has a super high heat rating. Anti-sieze compounds work well for preventing seizure of bolts, but dont lubricate or penetrate as well.

Use Mouse Milk. Its a better penetrant and lubricant. Anti-sieze compounds wont lube or penetrate as well.

I have never lubed the slip joints myself, but am planning to at every oil change. My guess is what i'll find is that its impossible to push the anti-seize into the joints since its a lot thicker than a liquid penetrant.. So prolly will end up with mouse milk ...

I may have spoken too soon, and/or misunderstood the topic. Mouse Milk is the best penetrant and lubricant I have ever used for moving parts like wastegates etc in an exhaust system. However, the slip joints are best lubed upon installation with a good anti-seize. Simply coat the area slipped together. This is not always done however. So...mouse milk will help get them apart.
