231Pilot Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 AWM is West Memphis, good hangars, reasonable fuel. Bill Starnes maintains a lot of Mooney aircraft there. In the area, AWM is my airport of choice to use as a base.
robert7467 Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 Covington has been my main practice airport, Mark is a wonderful guy, and he always has donuts and coffee for us. I wonder if Olive Branch will ever build any new hangars. I really hate living next to a great airport, and then having to drive 45 minutes to Millington, but it sure beats having the plane sit outside. When I was in Long Beach, we flew a 2005 172 already showing signs of corrosion and the paint was oxodizing. Sad....
231Pilot Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 I was based in Gulfport (lived in Long Beach, MS) for 6 years, then AWM for almost 6 more, now SLC. Always hangared (except for short time at OLV).
