PT20J Posted Thursday at 07:27 PM Report Posted Thursday at 07:27 PM If you haven't already found it, there is a really useful feature that is kind of hidden and not well described in the Pilot's Guide. The Info Page normally shows the GPS Satellite Status, but there is a tab for a second page called Data Fields. This tab allows you to customize a large array of data fields to provide all sorts of useful information. The available field options are described in Appendix A of the Pilot's Guide. 3 Quote
Rick Junkin Posted Friday at 01:31 AM Report Posted Friday at 01:31 AM I set this page up on the MFD in front of my wife’s seat to answer all of the questions she has had on our flights to see the kids and grandkids. How much longer? What time will it be when we get there? How fast are we going? Do we have a tailwind? Are we going to have enough gas? Where’s the closest bathroom? Now she sets the XM radio to her favorite channel and answers her own questions. 2 Quote
Pinecone Posted Friday at 12:16 PM Report Posted Friday at 12:16 PM I have most of those setup on the top of the 750. G3X data fields are set to data to the next waypoint, 750 to destination. Right side has a 7" G3X, so she has PFD and MFD and can check whatever she wants. Last trip, got her to start changing the frequencies and altimeter settings. Soon, I will be able to sleep while she and the autopilot take care of things. 1 Quote

Good point out for those who don't automatically look for these things. Having seen this as early as the Garmin GNS series, it's something we should expect to find in most avionics. Quote
