Danb Posted December 1 Report Posted December 1 I assume my gear lever switch is the culprit, about 4-5 times in last couple months I moved the switch to drop the gear and nothing happened, after 3-4 times pulling and moving down it finally engaged. Once almost aborted approach as it didn’t engage then luckily it caught. What is the issue, gear switch or something else. D Quote
IvanP Posted December 1 Report Posted December 1 Could be the switch or the relay. Cleaning both with contact cleaner and checking operation with plane on jacks may be a good start. My guess would be that the relay is more likely to fail than the switch. Quote
201Steve Posted December 1 Report Posted December 1 Relay(s) selector switch, or gear down limit switch (stays stuck from the last operation). Would be my order of attack. I found it helpful to get underneath with someone else working the up down on jacks and really pay attention to how well limit switches are moving. can also tap the relays but beware of a false positive, the tapping vibration could be enough to release anything in the circuit that’s sticking 1 Quote
M20S Driver Posted December 1 Report Posted December 1 I had a similar issue. Suspects were the gear down switch, wiring, gear down limit switch in the belly , relays, and loose/poor contacts. To make the long story short, it was a hard to find, intermittent problem with the gear down limit switch in the belly that worked perfectly fine on the ground. Driver 1 Quote
