Looking for the owner of this plane N6817V

This little beauty came on the market about a year and a half ago and according to the previous owner was sold.  The odd thing is that its last flight on flight aware was at the home base of the seller right when he sold and it hasn’t flown since (according to flight aware anyway, and it was Adsb equipped)
there had been no update on the registration, and as soon as I asked the old owner to help me locate the buyer he has gone silent. 
the airport is was last seen is near ALBUQUERQUE, NM.

flight aware doesn’t show the specific airport.

 

does anyone have any information on the location and or new owner?

any help locating would be greatly appreciated

Not sure I'm following this correctly...are you saying the new owner never changed the registration?  And, is it the seller or the buyer that went silent?  If the seller, then it sounds to me like he really didn't sell it...weird, for sure!

I thought at first it was just a lag at the FAA, but it’s been well over a year. 
i spoke to the owner about a month after it sold, he told me that it was sold. Then about six months later when it was still showing registered in the old owners name I contacted him again. He said he would send me the name.  He never did, and now he won’t respond to my calls or emails. 
I knew it was Adsb equipped so it’s strange that the last flight doesn’t even show an actual airport, and it has not flown since, as far as I can tell anyway..

I also searched the serial number to see if the tail changed, came up empty there too.

I would like to purchase and restore

I can tell you the FAA Aircraft Registry is having issues.  Very strong possibility that an update was sent in if it was sold and still sitting there.  Or returned, as in my case, for doing exactly what they told me to do...  But someone else rejected it.  Twice. (And mine is only an address change.)

Yes, I experienced that the year before covid. I have bought and sold since then and both times it seemed to be getting quicker so I hoped the backlog was better. 
That coupled with no record of a flight since then on adsb is odd.  But wouldn’t be surprised if it is just a backlog of registration or mistakes by the buyer.

It appears to be at Moriarity Municipal Airport, Moriarity, New Mexico (0E0) (East of Albuquerque just off of I-40).  It has great thermals and is a favorite for gliders/soaring.

It flew pattern work a few times out of Moriarity

I would call the FBO or the 2 businesses on the airport and ask around - phone numbers are listed.  AirNav: 0E0 - Moriarty Municipal Airport
