Fritz1 Posted May 1, 2024 Report Posted May 1, 2024 I lucked out so far and I feel sorry for anybody who is grounded due to lack of parts, however, I feel optimistic that things will take care of themselves, to my best understanding there are about 8000 Mooneys flying worldwide, about 850 Aerostars were produced so chances are that 600 are still flying, they are being supported, so one way or the other 8000 Mooneys will continue to be supported, maybe by a different entity or different entities Quote

Subaru no longer makes the part and there are no aftermarket replacements. Last I checked, Subaru was a going concern. RockAuto might be able to help https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/subaru,2009 1 Quote

With a airplane. It's a little bit of a grey area with PMA. Especially with newerish airplanes Owner Produced Parts is always an option. It's why it exists. It may not be cheap or painless, but it is always an option. Those who say otherwise usually have some motivation for muddying the water, but the regs are clear that it can be done. Quote
