Recently I came across a video of a Navy pilot shooting a carrier instrument approach in (I think) a Grumman C-2 Greyhound.  It dawned on me that my Mooney has essentially the same panel with an Aspen, and uAvionix AV-20, and Avidyne IFD540.  A shop recently called mine an "anti-establishment panel" :P  My JPI engine monitor is smaller...

A friend of mine got to ride on one of those to a carrier off the coast of San Diego. And back again to El Centro. He had his jet at an air show in El Centro  and they took all the air show pilots to the carrier.

Not a lot of civilians get to get caught on a wire and shot from a catapult.

Is that the RobRoy channel?  I watched several of his videos.

I have the anti-establishment panel, too, with Avidyne and Aspen.  No complaints, but it was already installed and working perfectly when I got the plane.

Not sure.  It was a short clip someone posted on reddit.

My plane came equipped like that too and I love it!   Too bad both companies seem to have surrendered to Big G.      The nav side of my KX-155 is connected to the Aspen too, so I can display to VOR's on the HSI in case of an EMP.  As far as I'm concerned, for what you get in terms of info on display, an Aspen beats to G5's.  Two 275's too.  But  that's just my opinion.  Of course Big G's Big Glass would be great too, but I don't have that upgrade budget especially since I like what I have.

This went from "this is cool" to I love my dysfunctional family in two post. So I'm jumping in on the dysfunctional family Side

IFD440, GNS430w, flight stream 210, Dynon HDX1100, GTX345, GMA340. Unfortunately the Garmin side of the house doesn't want to talk to the other family members. So I had to install another ADSB-in with the SV472. Replaced a JPI 830 with the Dynon EMS. Its an interesting home: but fun!

I flew in the Army for 30 years and the Army was always behind on upgrades. Seems to be improving some
