Garmin GDL 51R warranty registration problem

Has anyone tried to register a GDL 5XR on the Garmin warranty registration web page, and been successful?

I pulled the serial number for the unit directly from the G3X system configuration page, but the web site doesn’t recognized the 10 digit number as a serial number and can’t identify the GDL 51R. I even tried the SXM radio ID, but of course that didn’t work either.

I contacted Garmin support back in September when I first got the airplane back from the avionics shop, but they weren’t able to help me and passed me off to engineering. It was late in the day and no one answered in engineering. Admittedly I dropped the ball at that point and haven’t got around to trying this again until now.
