Danb Posted February 4, 2024 Report Posted February 4, 2024 Exercised the TKS system when landed TKS fluid as running and dripping under the plane, front to back. What could be the culprit, TKS line came undone?
exM20K Posted February 4, 2024 Report Posted February 4, 2024 Could be. My factory system had basically no service loop (slack) going from the proportioning valves to the wing panels. Did the system come up to operating pressure? -dan

M20TN_Driver Posted February 5, 2024 Report Posted February 5, 2024 Take the belly pan off. Clean all the excess drips up. Run the system and look at loose union joints. On mine that is where I’d get occasional leaks from. 1
mike_elliott Posted February 5, 2024 Report Posted February 5, 2024 Dan, yours had a hose pop off in the belly in Calgary when it was picked up from previous owner. He reattached it before Sam bought it into the US. I know Don was aware of it during pre buy. Perhaps that's the culprit again.
Danb Posted February 5, 2024 Author Report Posted February 5, 2024 I remember that I’ll bet it is, it took me a couple hours to clean up the fluid it really goes everywhere and has to be wiped up. PIA, I’m paying for a prior owners neglect. It’s getting there and I’m starting to really like the plane still loved the bravo having it since new it was like a glove or good old worn out undies. Did I mention the Hard rock casino is nearby? Mike I took off the belly and that was the culprit, it appears he just stuck the line on and didn’t clench the fitting. That’s the first time I tried it in flight, took hours to clean under the belly etc. Jason from CAV gave me good advice, the line was to tight in length there has to be at least 3% extra in length and the olives, compression fittings need to be clenched on, Weber is lending me a tool, then it will be fixed properly. 3
