I bought the plane through a dealer and not the owner.  Under the panel there is a ethernet cable not connected to anything.  Back in the tail there is a WSI AV300.  I assume the previous owner used a tablet or some other windows based pc.  I have a MX20 in the plane that should provide limited weather assuming I have it wired in and pay the base subscription of $359.  This configuration will not give me winds aloft or the tops of weather.  The MX20 suposedly won't support that functionality.  To get that, I need to buy a windows based tablet or pc

I am currently using an IPAD for an EFB with a subscription cost of about $150 a year.

Should I

1) dump the WSI AV300 and get the hardware for the ADS-B and use the IPAD

2) dump the ipad and buy a windows based EFB (cost for weather goes to $559 plus I assume a higher cost chart subscription)

3) just hook it up to the MX20 and live with it.

Thanks
