Remove the hoses, the vacuum regulator, filter, and manifold (under the glare shield), and the pump. Plug the hole in the firewall where the hose used to go, and put the cover plate where the pump used to be. You can get the plate and a new gasket from AS or a number of places. The only real complication is that the plate is not as thick as the unthreaded shanks on the studs that held the pump in. The pump base is a lot thicker. You can get around this with an extra washer or two, which may earn side-eye from some, but imho it beats pulling the studs. The hole in the firewall is fairly large, since the hose is big. I plugged it with a couple large washers and a nut and bolt to hold them together on each side of the firewall. A little red RTV around the edges doesn't hurt. Fmodel with two G5's, 430w, 530, JPI-700, what needs to be done wiring wise, GPS wise, PFD wise, retractable step, etc, etc. I'm sure there is more to it than just the hardware. Thanks for the links. The aileron servos are a pain without a shorty ratcheting box end wrench. As you mentioned, you will need to install @takair’s electric conversion kit for your retractable step. As Anthony says, Not an A/P, and not experienced. There are vacuum hoses that go to to the vacuum instruments. If you remove the instruments, remove the hoses and everything they're connected to. That's pretty much it. I think the only thing not mentioned is that there'll probably be a suction gauge with a small hose going to it, and potentially a warning light with a vacuum switch. All of that can come out, too. The vacuum system is essentially self-contained. There's not a lot of mixing of vacuum and electronic stuff, with the exception of the warning light that tells you when the vacuum quits. 1 Quote
