hais Posted January 17, 2023 Report Posted January 17, 2023 I understand that this remote audio panel accepts 4 alarm inputs and will generate a tone via headset. I also hear that the tone is not mutable until the alarming parameter goes back to normal. Question: in your experience, is that constant tone distracting? Say, your oil temp gets too hot, you react accordingly, but it takes minutes for the temp to get back to green. Quote
carusoam Posted January 17, 2023 Report Posted January 17, 2023 Hais, Take a look at the alarm you are referring to…. a yellow zone can probably be muted… a red zone maybe not… Either one can be distracting once you have been notified… When in the red zone were actively getting back out… Best regards, -a- Quote

As well, our avionics shop pointed out that you can always pull the breaker, which would disable the audio panel and silence the alarm. The only downside is that you will then be left with COM1 - that is an acceptable trade off. So we are getting the configuration. 1 Quote
