goodyFAB Posted October 8, 2022 Report Posted October 8, 2022 Question, can anyone offer an explanation why the sealant called out for fuel tank inspection windows/screws is different for the wing walk inspection window ? thank you! 1 Quote

The sealant specified for the access panels is non-adhesive. The sealant specified for the wing walk panels is adhesive. Presumably this was specified due to the need for the wing walk panels to withstand the stress of foot traffic. 1 Quote

Sealant for most access covers and windows is of a lower strength, the one under the wing walk needs to be higher strength to handle the weight of standing on it. Later models had a strengthened access panel as well. Quote
