M016576 Posted October 12, 2011 Report Posted October 12, 2011 If you're going to spend A36 dollars, why not go all out and get an older malibu.... pressurized+TC=nice.... I think they run in the mid 300's to mid 400's..... Quote
jetdriven Posted October 12, 2011 Report Posted October 12, 2011 You can get an A36 for low low 100s. Quote

skyking Posted October 12, 2011 Author Report Posted October 12, 2011 Becca: You may be on to something. The oldest started her lessons about a month ago but it will be a while before she is old enough to solo never mind finish off the ticket. A partnership may be in my future as i just cant see selling Miss Mooney. I have put way to much time and cash into restoring her etc. Quote
jetdriven Posted October 12, 2011 Report Posted October 12, 2011 Sell 49% of it to someone. We have a 2/3rd 1/3rd deal ourselves. Fixed costs split 50% Quote

skyking Posted October 12, 2011 Author Report Posted October 12, 2011 I thought about that but i really dont want a partner on my Mooney. Its my pride and joy! As i said earlier i have bought and sold more planes than i care to count but i am realy attached to my Mooney. Sounds silly but its reality. Quote

skyking Posted October 13, 2011 Author Report Posted October 13, 2011 Seth: I fill all 4 seats about 80% of the time, and 3 seats probably the balance. I travel with my Grandkids and my dogs quite a bit. Quote

KSMooniac Posted October 13, 2011 Report Posted October 13, 2011 Since you are really attached to your Mooney, I would try to find an under-utilized, privately-owned *something* in your area. Get a conversation going with the owner, and see if you can arrange a non-equity type of partnership or dry-lease rate, etc. You can present yourself as an experienced aircraft owner, and not some neophyte off the street that can barely afford to fly, and thus would be the responsible type to share a plane and care for it like it was your own. Perhaps the market in your area might not have much to offer, but that is the route I would try if I needed something bigger some of the time. I can't imagine giving up my Mooney either! As others mentioned, everything is negotiable with an FBO, so don't be scared of their published minimum times. Often those are formally posted just to prevent someone from taking a plane an hour away on Friday and parking it for the weekend... Quote
skyking Posted October 13, 2011 Author Report Posted October 13, 2011 M016576 if i had that kind of cash i wouldnt be on here complaining!! LOL if i sell Missy i can afford to kick in the extra bucks other than that its time to try and negotiate with somebody on renting for long trips. Quote
