RLCarter Posted November 1, 2019 Report Posted November 1, 2019 @corn_flake take a look at some of the YouTube videos some of the DIY home simulator guys are doing some of their backlit panels are amazing. Not exactly the same but you can get different ideas of how they did it Quote
corn_flake Posted November 1, 2019 Author Report Posted November 1, 2019 I'll search for for the youtube video. However, I'm be doing this under "owner produced parts". So, creativity will be limited by the almighty FARAIM. 1 Quote
gsxrpilot Posted November 1, 2019 Report Posted November 1, 2019 While you're going to all the trouble with a CNC machine and all that... you should throw a piece of aluminum down first and get the CNC to cut it in a manner that will hold your instruments in a standard 6 pack configuration instead of the random shotgun layout the Mooney factory gave you. Figure 50% more work for 200% better panel. While you're at it, use Nulite rings for better lighting. All owner produced keeps the cost down but raises the effort. Something like this... Quote
oldguyscanfly Posted November 4, 2019 Report Posted November 4, 2019 Mine is leftover after replacing with a metal panel. I will get a pic of it this week when I visit the avionics shop. Quote
