RyszardZ Posted April 22, 2019 Report Posted April 22, 2019 Last summer FFI posted the EZ Supplement on its website. This is the guideline on how to fly formation to FFI standard in Rutan LongEzs, Varieze’s and other Rutan designs. Since the population of Rutan designs has dimished in the past few decades there are less of us out there to fly with but the desire is there. We hope to put together a 50 plane formation on the 50th anniversary of the Varieze in 2025. Though that seems like a lot of time we have a lot of work to do. I’m hoping we can join up (excuse the pun) with other FFI flyers and expand the opportunities for those EZ drivers looking for a way to learn safe formation skills and ultimately earn their FFI cards. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated on our getting together with Mooney’s and doing sine flying. Sincerely, Ryszard Zadow Founder and President Rutan Aircraft Flying Experience www.RutanAFE.org Quote
gsxrpilot Posted April 22, 2019 Report Posted April 22, 2019 There's a bunch of us in Texas who fly formation all the time, and most are FFI carded pilots. If you're in Texas, we'd be happy for you to come along. Quote
carusoam Posted April 23, 2019 Report Posted April 23, 2019 Livening up Ryszard’s link... https://www.rutanaircraftflyingexperience.org/ I had the fine opportunity to fly with a builder/pilot of a Long EZ.... Lots of two seat performance for 108hp? The LEZ was cool... first you build the parts, then you assemble the kit... lots of work. Best regards, -a- Quote
