The 7 antennae’s BNC connector is offset. http://www.chiefaircraft.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=CI-196Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro Quote
McMooney Posted May 23, 2018 Author Report Posted May 23, 2018 unfortunately, it's only comm, I need gps and comm. Quote
Marauder Posted May 23, 2018 Report Posted May 23, 2018 unfortunately, it's only comm, I need gps and comm. If you go with the 2480, you’ll probably need to drill 5 new holes, possible 6 if the GPS portion has a separate BNC. Any reason you want a dual antennae over a separate GPS puck?I can tell you from experience that the addition of my antennae farm didn’t affect my TAS. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro Quote

Marauder Posted May 23, 2018 Report Posted May 23, 2018 Just looked up the footprint of the 2480. You will need to drill new holes for the two BNC connectors and patch the hole left the 7 antenna. It looks like the hole pattern may be the same. I’ll measure the 7 antenna one I have. If the screw pattern is different then you may need to build a doubler to support it. You can do a splitter on the Stratus GPS antenna. That is what they did with my L-3 and GTN. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro Quote
McMooney Posted May 23, 2018 Author Report Posted May 23, 2018 splitter on a gps antenna? is that legal in aircraft? that would be ideal Quote

Marauder Posted May 23, 2018 Report Posted May 23, 2018 Certainly worth a call to the avionics shop to confirm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro Quote
