Consider getting a whelen LED anti-collision light. Similar to having their strobe, probably even better... I had put a whelen strobe on to improve over the 60’s red light... The whelen site does a nice job of indicating what is required lighting depending on the year of the plane. Best regards, -a- This is what I did, although my old belly flasher wasn't motorized. Didn't have a choice, it was operating erraticly and needed to be replaced. Now if the wingtip lights were just a reasonable price . . . Price was a little high, but it was a true drop-in replacement. Used the same wires, even the same trim ring and mounting screws. In this photo, the old trim ring is already on the new flasher. Look at the paint line on the old one to see where it mounted, and note the size difference. 2 Quote
carusoam Posted March 21, 2016 Report Posted March 21, 2016 Hank, Did you use a sealant like silicone or something between the mounting trim ring and the light's body? We were discussing the amount of water that might enter the tail cone through the small gap there, the other day. Mounted on the top of the tail cone in this case. Best regards, -a- Quote

carusoam Posted March 22, 2016 Report Posted March 22, 2016 Whelen has a bunch of new (to me) aviation lighting products... http://www.whelen.com/aviation/category?head_id=11 Their website is pretty helpful. They are located at a small airport in CT. Best regards, -a- Quote
