GeorgePerry Posted February 26, 2016 Report Posted February 26, 2016 I received a PM about the new ICAO flight plans and how to decipher ICAO codes. For the group, here are a couple of resources. 2 options. AOPA's flight planner as all the codes with very simple dropdowns so you can figure out what applies to you. See picture. All you have to do is go to AOPA home page, open the flight planner, tools, aircraft info and use the selector tools. Or just call member services at 800-872-2672. they can walk you through the ICAO process. Hope this helps 1
Bob - S50 Posted February 26, 2016 Report Posted February 26, 2016 The Lockheed Martin website has something similar. Click on the magnifying glass, get a popup list, check the appropriate boxes. Bob
midlifeflyer Posted February 26, 2016 Report Posted February 26, 2016 The ForeFlight blog has an excellent article on filing ICOA flight plans about how we can limit the amount of information we put in to just the essentials. The step-by-step is obviosly intended for users of the app, but it really demystifies the entries for anyone, especially the recommendation not to even bother with the PBN codes.
