Anyone installed NU-LITE's in their M20J panel?  I was thinking of putting them on next year on my airspeed, attitude, alt, HSI, TC, VSI.  My floods work well, but I would still like the instruments lit.

How much arse pain is it?

Any other suggestions or options?

 thoughts appreciated

I just installed nulites on my round gauges as part of  a major panel rehab  - I think it was quite simple - was charged $95 w/ install per gauge.  They work well but still have the yellow incandescent look.  In retrospect i might have gone with this LED alternative: http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/elpages/fiberlite.php?recfer=19866.   A bit  pricier but whiter, more modern-looking illumination.  Does anyone know if there is a direct plug in LED replacement for the post bulbs?  The only ones I found require a new socket.

I put them in about 4 years ago and have been happy with them.  The only problem I had was they have a slightly larger footprint than some of the instruments.  Be sure your instruments have enough space between them.  They can be trimmed down if needed.

I have them on all the "steam gauges", and they do a good job of lighting the instruments. I didn't know there was a LED option. That would be nice. I also added luminescent strips on the underside of the glareshielde. They are dim-able, and really do light up the entire panel and switches. Good combination for night lighting. ,p>

Ymmv but there's a thread going on over at BT about LED replacement bulbs for post lights, etc.

bennett my glare shield light bar cover has developed and unsightly and distracting crack along the not so clear plastic.  What luminescent bar did you go with?

The LED lights referenced above certainly look nice but I don't like the idea of having to do a 337 for something as simple as panel lighting given (once again) only B/C/and Ps are included in their STCs AML.   For that reason NuLites seem more attractive.

thanks

I really like my Nulites, but don't have a decent picture of them. Still need to add one or two, seems like the VSI is still dark, and the MP and Tach still have their original, weak lights.
