Sooo their is a F at my home drome that I was eye balling,,,  again.

It is n7452w,,  Ive looked it up before and think 1975.

Anyhooo,,,  I noticed with confusion that the gas caps

say capacity  27.5 gal...

Any reasonable reason anyone can think of as to why they dont say capacity 32 gal?

It does have the 54.8 sized bladders installed.

The caps, if they look like the usual ones, probably have been changed.

I believe the caps used with bladders have a different neck installed in the tank and look different from the outside.

If it is an F, it has 32 gallons per side unless it has extended tanks in which case it will have 2 fuel caps each side.

From what I remember the O & N gap and neck is raised above the wing surface, whereas the Mooney cap is flush.

Old style cap (Shaw) on the O&N bladder system:

The older style (like I have) has a wider mouth, the new style is much narrower.

There was an option when the AD came out to put Piper style raised caps on. Haven't seen any in my travels.
