Looking for M20J A&P mechanic TRI-State area of Pittsburgh

Hi,

 

My airplane is located a KBTP (Butler County Airport); however, I will reposition it when and if applicable.  I am trying to stay within 1 hour driving time from the center of Pittsburgh, PA --- so this include certain neighboring areas such as Ohio and West Virginia, which are part of the tri-state area of Pittsburgh.

 

I am looking for a mechanic (A&P) that meets the following:

• Honest
• Reasonable
• Knowledgeable of Mooney M20J model

And a avionic guy. I get these great reports on this one guy in Johnstown , but he never answers his phone . He must be dead.

Avionic guys have no communication skills.

 

I am looking at Waterloo Canada and Clarence(on this site), but thats a far ride.

Im pretty sure I saw Brett with this type jet at my home base, Altoona .

Brett is a flying a black 3 holer for a private owner. I think it is based at Altoona.

Have you look into KAGC. That's where I land when visiting my son. Good fuel prices and service. I am sure you can find a good old A/P there that meets your requirements.

AGC has one mechanic and he helped me out in a pinch. Nice guy and competent but he's not interested in doing annuals or airframe specific mooney work. -B

My mechanic is at KPJC.  Do not mind working on Mooneys and grew up with them as well.

Mechanic is also a pilot with prop and jet time, which is a plus.  If you go to him mention Tom McFadden.

New mechanic this year Donald Buchannan at KFWQ did the annual.  Nice guy.  Old school.  Knows Mooney specifics and has been an C owner for >30 years.

I know "Buck".  He is getting out of the business / retiring.  He has referred many of his customers to my mechanic.

He is certainly not soliciting new business, but is very much there for all the local guys.
