I'm a lop freak. I love keeping my engine happy and clean knowing that I'm saving some avgas in the process.

Does anyone have an accurate fltplan profile they're willing to share? Preferably someone who also operates lop.

I read somewhere that fltplan extrapolates performance data to or from max altitude. In other words setting max altitude to a realistic max altitude we fly, will yield much more accurate data.

Any input greatly appreciated!

I fly an 'O' with the 310hp mod, so my profile won't help you, but other Ovation owners flying LOP may find it useful. It's usually accurate for predicting fuel burn by +/- 1g.

Boreal...thanks for making that available. I'm seeing about the same fuel burn in my O3 at the altitudes I cruise at but see about 180kts at 9000-13,000ft at 13.6 - 12.3 gph in that altitude range.

The main difference between your profile and mine is that I have my cruise climb defined at 120kts (IAS) for the entire climb to cruising altitude rather than Vy as you seem to do.

Fuel burn calc is quite accurate but ATC routing/altitude changes from my filed plan always make for some variation that make it hard to get an exact comparison. Certainly within 1-3 gallons though on a 3-4hr flight.

@PTK, sorry, don't mean to hijack this into a Ovation thread :)

I fly a 310hp Ovation as well and I tried to copy the performance data in FltPlan and it never seemed to work. I'd enter the username and C-number and it would just take me back to the home screen. Any ideas what might be going on?

Took me a while to figure out but I finally got it to work when i entered the registration as CGJOG without a dash in it.

btw: I'm assuming you went to the Performance data menu and added a new aircraft 1st.

Ah, no, I was trying to modify my existing profile. I'll try creating a new profile to see if that works.  Makes sense.
