Guitarmaster Posted April 11, 2015 Report Posted April 11, 2015 Hey guys. I keep hearing about this step fairing to reduce the drag a little bit, but I don't know how that would work here. Am I missing something? Quote
1964-M20E Posted April 11, 2015 Report Posted April 11, 2015 I think the conversation is around the retractable step. 1 Quote
ryoder Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 I found this old article about speed mods on a bonanza and it mentions tie down ring removal and step removal. Also, the main speed increase was an expensive cowl change which reduced air inlet size. Good reason to get a cowl closure which is pretty inexpensive. http://www.aeroresourcesinc.com/store_/images/classifieds/363-1.pdf Quote
StinkBug Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 That step looks a lot shorter than the one on my plane, and all the others I've seen. Did someone shorten yours? Quote
Guitarmaster Posted April 13, 2015 Author Report Posted April 13, 2015 I don't think so. I think this was a, " '75ism". I have learned that in 75-76, Mooney was in transition between the F and the J so I have a few things on my airplane that are on no other Mooney. This could very well be one of them. I affectionately refer to my airplane as an, M20F-SE. Quote
