bus driver Posted January 21, 2015 Report Posted January 21, 2015 I've got a Bob Fields Door seal on my M20E that leaks. Anyone got experience with finding leaks and/or repairing them? Quote
LANCECASPER Posted January 21, 2015 Report Posted January 21, 2015 I don't have one but here's what their website says http://ultimatedoorseals.com/repairs.html By the way, do you like it? Is there noticeable difference? Quote
bus driver Posted January 21, 2015 Author Report Posted January 21, 2015 I just came from that site, but figured I'd ask for some extra pointers. I emailed them just now. I love the door seal. It really lowers the noise level and gets rid of the cold air drafts. I was up at 11500 last night and it was cold out. When the seal leaked down, you could feel the cold air seeping through the cracks. Pumped up, seals it up nicely. Worth it for the manuals bulb type, like I have. Quote
Marauder Posted January 21, 2015 Report Posted January 21, 2015 I have one as well and really like it. Mine has been on for over 26 years. If you attempt the repair, let us know how it works out. 1 Quote
Awful_Charlie Posted January 21, 2015 Report Posted January 21, 2015 I've got the basic one too - fitted by a previous owner. Seems to work well, and have not needed to repair it so far, but when it does, will probably be due to the clutz pilot forgetting to de-pressurize if before opening the door! 1 Quote
