Interesting that there's no mention of extending to the 696/796, is this just an omission or is Garmin not wanting to cannibalize gdl-39 sales?

Looking at Garmin web site, it doesn't really have a lot of detail, like what is the difference between FS 110 & 210 models?

Well that's a tease... I don't have a subscription, and I'm not paying $36 to subscribe with the intention of reading one article.

It's one of the few publication's that's well worth the cost of 5 gallons of gas.

 

I would post the content of the article here, but they have very strict copyright warnings in each issue.

I would not rely that much on Aviation Consumer evaluation for new products. They are pretty much subjective with no quantifiable data. You are better off with the manufacturer specs. and operating manual of the product. There is also free information on the web that you can read about.
