JR... Got out to the airport (FINALLY!) over the holiday weekend... a variation on attachment to the copilot yoke.  I opted to attach to the yoke itself, rather than the shaft.  I stipped the plastic off my yokes a few years ago and had them powder coated so the grip is excellent.  I run the iPad 2 inverted which puts the power cord at the top, out of the way of the copilot's knees, and makes the power button (now on the bottom) accessible.  I run in portrait vs. landscape, but nothing on the panel is blocked... not even the EGT in the far right lower corner of the copilot's panel.

Aaron, is that an EDM 900 that I spot on the right in the first picture? If so, would you mind posting a picture of it sometime, please?

Yep, and it irks me too, I have the X-grip for the large iPad and it doesn't do this.
