  1. I have a 1984 m20J. What do y’all do to mount an iPad to the yoke? See attached pic of what I started to buy but need confirmation that I’m buying what I need. I have an iPad 8th generation 10.2” screen size (9.8” vertical) but may need to get a mini so it fits better. This yoke seems smaller than the Cessna 172 I’ve been flying.
  2. I have a M20F 67 with a jbar and an stec 60 A/p. I was thinking of upgrading my yoke as the Ptt is closer than electric trim on the left YOKE. Any recommendations? Prefer the newer yokes. With a change in electric trim placement, a/p disconnect, and ptt I assume it's a 337? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks MICKEY IMG951130.3gp
  3. All of my manuals are at the airport (about a 3hour round trip) or I would look it up myself. Was hoping someone could post the inside dimensions (handle to handle) of the pilot's side yoke in a 67 M20F. I presume that both yokes would be the same but one never knows.... 4. This weekend we saw 3 Mooney Incidents A M20J gear up landing - no injuries A M20K aborted takeoff go off the end - no injuries A M20J yoke come off, solo pilot regained control from right seat, ended in hard landing at VNY on the second attempt. Also no injuries. This is the first I've ever heard of a yoke coming off in flight. That had to be quite a surprise for the pilot! Are you ready for the yoke coming off?! With the wires that control the trim and AP disconnect, I wonder if that could lead to losing the AP as well as PTT button. My first thought was to restore aircraft control with the AP while moving to the co-pilot seat. There is quite a bit to do in flight changing seat positions between repositioning both seats, moving headset jacks and seat belts. Hope the plane suffered very minor damage and that we learn what may have led to the yoke detaching in flight. https://www.asias.faa.gov/apex/f?p=100:96:2498480348352::::P96_ENTRY_DATE,P96_MAKE_NAME,P96_FATAL_FLG:24-MAY-21,MOONEY https://flightaware.com/live/flight/N5717K
  5. I'd like to install a co-pilot PTT switch with a silk screened label next to it. Does anyone have any idea where I could find the 1" by 2" control wheel thumbplate? The manual part number is 917024-033 but I don't see them online anywhere. I'd like to get one powder coated with a label if possible.
  6. Anyone knows a source for these type of brackets ?
  7. Anybody know how to restore the plate on the older yokes? Specifically, the "Mooney Bird" logo. The plate appears to be aluminum and is riveted in place. If I could get the original art, I would just have a high end decal made and paste it on there.
  8. I am chasing an autopilot issue. The autopilot is a Stec55x. It flies, in VS mode, and approaches with no issues. Altitude hold however, and you get a heck of a porpoise. I am wondering if my elevator yoke pressure is to high. Mine tested today (fish scale) to 28 lbs. to get deflection. Has or could anyone else measure there's? We have exhausted about everything else, from presure transducer to start voltage in the servo. It does with the trim motor on or off. Unit mounted very stable, and seats firmly. Tried different sources of static air. Validate 12vdc stability out of the unit. Down to yoke pressure...
