  1. Hi Robb,

First off, let me wish you a speedy and complete recovery. I wanted to tell you about the Mooney Summit, Inc. if you do not already know. We are a 501c3 charity that provides education to Mooney Pilots via our Summit each October. As part of the Mooney Summit, we have the Bill Gilliland foundation set up to provide crisis intervention and emergency financial assistance for Mooney Pilots and their surviving families. My wife Alice heads up the foundation and is a psychiatric therapist specializing in EMDR and DPT therapy. Having been thru this ourselves, my wife and I are in a unique position to offer assistance to you if you need it.

We know of no other GA support group like the Mooney Summit. Please let us know if we can aid you thru this. Feel free to contact me any time. Godspeed in your recovery, Dr.

  2. Survive... Land in the best spot available and fly the plane under control as far into the crash as possible. Everything else is too many variables to plan for. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. That sounds like a pretty accurate synopsis of the events. My recollection is limited to what I could hear while lying on my back waiting for people to get to me. I'm very thankful for all of the rescue personnel and individuals involved in my care. I'm remarkably uninjured for what I've been through. Robb
  4. I've looked in the downloads section and I've gone through all of my old emails. At one time I had the Parts Manual PDF for the '68 M20C but I cant seem to find it anywhere. Anybody got a pdf version of MAN1006?
  5. I have the original 8 day clock on my 68C. It never worked from the time I bought it, but I finally got tired of looking at it and took it out. Took it to a local jeweler in Tulsa (http://www.jewelsbyjames.com/) and he repaired ti for less than a new one would have cost. There was a delicate shaft that had broken due to a shear force of some kind that he had to remake. I asked him if a particularly rough landing might have caused it and he seemed to think it did. Probably occurred years before I bought her when she was bellied in. Robb
  6. Am I sensing some sarcasm font in use here regarding Mr. Jacobs?
  7. I have flown into Grand Prarie twice for Cowboys games.. I wouldn't consider it walking distance. A cab ride is $20 but I bet you could prearrange a ride from someone at the FBO for less. I've never stayed overnight so I can't help there.
  8. I'd try to make it. I've flown in there once but not in several years,
  9. I'm interested.. I will contact you
  10. When I've flown in that area, I stopped at 23M.. Just a bit south of Meridian. Uncontrolled and cheap fuel if I remember correctly.
  11. I would definitely join you, but I have to work that weekend.. May fly up there for some Mexican food today though.
  12. They took measurements from the original which is in the EAA Museum. As far as they can tell, that plane was never flown and suffered enough damage during its storage that it could never be made airworthy. The one being built is essentially not a reproduction but serial number 2 and the first flying example. Post the Kickstarter link to your favourite aviation forums so we can see this baby in the air..
  13. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/525000827/reve-bleu-bugattis-blue-dream-will-finally-fly?ref=home_location This is a project I've been following since it got started and he's on the home stretch to flying this truly beautiful plane for the first time in history.. Robb
  14. Count me in unless I'm working. Maybe I could fly to work that day though.
  15. I had similar problems with my '68C recently. The grease had gotten so old and caked with grime I couldn't get the collar to engage into the floor latch (I'm assuming we decided the problem we're discussing is gear retraction/bar on floor). After putting it on jacks and relubricating the collar, it works better than it ever did. The one thing I noticed is that cold weather made it much worse..
