  1. One thing that I appreciate in this forum is how much I am still learning after two years of Mooney ownership :-)
  2. Hey Guys, We are based in St Mary's GA, just north of JAX. Is there anyone interested in doing a meet up tomorrow. The wife and I are sitting here thinking of where to go tomorrow. Cheers, Walt
  3. Ummmmm, Does that price include the airplane that is attached to the power tow?? I LOVE that paint job.
  4. My HOA would have a cow over this. And I would LOVE watching it happen :-)
  5. I would LOVE to see this sort of list established. Unless there is one that I do not know of.
  6. Thank you for all the "feedback" :-) I am going to seek out a Mooney sales brochure from the late 70's and see what I come up with. Who knows. We may just go with a more modern design. I guess part of my decision making process should consider what would be most appealing to a new owner when we decide to sell our baby to the next happy owner. All I can say is that after 2 years of being a Mooney owner I picked the right aircraft :-)
  7. Hello all, Our 231 is ready for a new interior. We are trying to keep her as original as possible. However our upholstry shop can not find the original material at all. Would anyone out there have a source for these patterns? Thanks in advance, W
  8. Hi Guys, How tough is it to access the light bulbs in the annunciator panel. I have two that appear to be burned out. Thanks in advance, W
  9. I bought my whole airplane PLUS the first annual it had had in 6 years for less than that!!!!
  10. Are there any experiences to share about Daytona Aircraft? They are the closest MSC to me.
  11. Hello all, We are looking for one of these boxes with the rack and antenna if you have it. Thanks, W
  12. Is anyone out there using Camguard on their turbo charged motor? If so have you seen any negative effects?
  13. Found it. Had to get to it by removing the dash top. This one is mounted up top so it is not even viewable from below.
  14. Hi guys, While digging around under the cowling I could not figure out where they mount the voltage regulator. Is it located behind the panel perhaps? Thanks, W
  15. No they charge $69 an hour to replace them. I need to look more closely and see if I got dinged for the parts too.
  16. I just checked my annual bill from last year. The shop replaced the o rings and charged me for an hour of labor. Now I am torqued.
  17. Oh that is just too funny :-)
  18. Well I have a new MT prop on our 231. And we are very happy with the performance and lack of vibration. However, I am at 25 hours on it and have already found small dings in the paint.
  19. Island Aviation in Fernandina Beach Florida cares for my 231 and does an excellent job. We just purchased Beech Skipper and are having a prebuy done by them next week. The owners name is Gary Seabert and really runs a good shop.
  20. Ya wanna bet?? We used an MSC when first purchased our Mooney. They missed so many things that I am considering a lawsuit for what I had to fix after the fact. Pick your MSC, or any other mechanic shop carefully. Contact me via PM and I will share my experiences.
  21. While digging thru our STC paperwork, I note that cruise power setting data appears to be missing. Does anyone have this data in electronic form that they can send me? Thanks in advance.
  22. Hi all, The original Mooney logo decals on the tail of my 231 have started to peel. Is there a source for new ones? Also, while I am at it, what about replacement logos for the yokes? Thanks, W
  23. Oh that is just TOO FUNNY !!!!!
  24. Hello all, We are about to do our first oil change. My reading shows that Champion appears to be the most popular line out there. However the Tempest with its magnet and lower price has me attracted as well. A few questions for you: 1. Does anyone know the micron ratings on these two brands. 2. What do you use and why? 3. Are there any other brands out there that my reading has not uncovered. This is for a 231 Thanks, W
  25. The next topic is going to be on oil filters :-)
