Its very comfortable at at 17500 with no wx or turbelence going 240 kts. since neither mooneys nor bonanzas have toilets the difference in comfort is minimal IMO. with the mooney you get to the next toilet faster which we all know is the limiting factor in cross country flying.

You mean you guys aren't in the Mooney Billionaires club yet? I thought everybody was a member if only it were true.

in max cruise rop the Rocket burns 21 gph. it burns 25-30 gph on climb but you are climbing 1600-2000 fpm. at that rate it takes less than 15 mins to get to ceiling. if you want to run lop and save gas you can do that too. at 140k a Rocket is a bargain. Acclaim speed for a fraction of the price. even a new Cirrus turbo is slower than my 83 Rocket. the interior may be nicer in an acclaim or cirrus but you can always upgrade that with all the money you saved from not buying the cirrus. and of course you will looker cooler in a Mooney than a Cirrus. if you need FIKI get a 252 Rocket.

so per my avionics guy the GDL 88 will accept TAS input and prioritize the traffic so that there is no duplicate images. that was a smart idea by garmin. im going with GTN 650/750 / gtx 330 es / gdl 88/ garmin 350 and and aspen 1000 pro.

davidsguerra replied to davidsguerra's topic in Avionics / Parts Classifieds
Still for sale if anyone is interested. beat the trade in value and its yours (must be worth the cost of shipping) >$6500 for the 530W > $2500 for the GMX 200 standard with Jeppview. Both work great and are nearly new. -

would you need an STC to put the VOR recievers in the wingtips? what about to get the blades?

LOL so would it be better to get a gns 480 /650 combo to interface with gmx 200 or get a 750/650 combo? i have read where some feature of the 480 are lacking on the gtn series the aspen ads B receiver looks interesting. SInce I am pretty sure i am getting the 330ES xponder I would only need a receiver and the the GDL 88 has 978 out. the garmin rep told me it would broadcast both if paired with the 330 es which seems like a waste. if they would only make an ads B receiver with 1090ES out. The Freeflight system one looks too small to operate effectively. the garmin 330es looks more user friendly. if the GDL 88 would show traffic and wx through the 530w to the gmx 200 i could get the gdl 88 and upgrade to the GTN series later if i wanted too. the Garmin rep at sun& fun said that they would probably support the GMX 200 in the future but he doesnt know when. which means if i get a non garmin ads b receiver installed now it would work on my 530w and gmx 200 but i would have to replace it later if i upgraded to the GTN series if i wanted targettrend. i wonder SURF/Targettrend is going to be worth having when eventually everyone has ads B out. it might save me from getting a TAS system . or maybe not. that is my quandry right now. that and will the avidyne ifd 540 /440 combo play well with the gmx 200 and be worth waiting for. especially since i favor the avidyne 605 system. BTW anyone want to buy a 530W/gmx 200 combo and make the decision easy for me?

Jose I have a jpi 830.

will the Aspen ADS B box display on the GMX 200? i could get the receiver only and stick with the garmin xponder. the Freeflight systems can have more than one output as well. having a dual reciever only is a step in the right direction. if only someone would make a dual receiver in a TAS system i would buy it . especially if it came with a 1090 es out.

my goal is to add dual WAAS gps nav com and keep the king DG for redundancy. adding the aspen would add quadruple redundancy. I sold the kx 165 bc someone offered me good money for it and i knew that i would eventually add a GPS nav com. i have heard that the GTN series lacks some of the features that the gns 480 offers. since it plays well with gmx 200 i was considering it instead although it would limit my upgrade pathway in the future and i would be using the cf cards instead of the sd cards. i am interested in the avidyne series bu they arent out yet.

This is my panel minus the kx 165. I have a 530 W and a GMX 200 with chartview. I am planning to get a GMA 350 audio panel , GTX 330ES xponder and an aspen 1000 PFD. I would like the GTN 750 /650 combo with a gdl 88 for the panel mounted ADS B traffic and wx. . should I get a gns 480 instead of the 750 and keep the GMX 200? i could use a freeflight system ads B receiver for wx and traffic instead of the GDL 88. is Surf and Targettrend even helpful , especially since i could probably get TAS for the price of the GTN upgrade? i will lose money trading in my GMX 200 and 530w unless someone wants to buy them. which one would be easier to use for IFR? is there a difference between a GNS 480 and a cnx 80? the GNS 480 might save me 10 -12 k because I already have a good MFD with Jepp Chartview. if the GDL 88 was supported on the GMX 200 or it was even planned I wouldnt be interested in an upgrade except for the minor inconvenience of having to use a card adapter with my 530w to update the charts. please help me spend my money wisely. thanks

if they can put a 4 blade prop on a screaming eagle then it should work on a rocket. i would buy an MT prop if they would make an stc for a rocket.
