  1. Ohh, thanks for the update. I wonder if he sold it to his understudy, I can't remember his name, but I think he had just passed his A&P the last time I took my plane there (about 5 years ago).
  2. AGL is the best, I wish I still lived in NC to go back. Lynn is the best!
  3. Well, It cant put it off any longer, the Tanks need resealed and the paint as well. My plan is to take my bird (68 F) to Weep No More and then to a paint shop....hoping to find a paint shop somewhere in the midwest to make it a really expensive round trip! Any paint shop recommendations greatly appreciated! Thanks very much! Jim
  4. Thank you all so much!!!
  5. Forgot to mention, I went to KOSU last year and would not take my bird back there.
  6. Hello All, I've relocated to southeast Ohio and an in need of an annual. Unfortunately I'm too far from the greatest A&P ever at AGL aviation. The gentleman at the Marysville Oh airport is really backed up....so any assistance is greatly appreciated! Thanks very much!! Jim
  7. Hi All, Are there any new ideas about replacing an old KX155? She's unresponsive and my Radio #1 (another kx 155) is in need of a new display..... so thought I might see how to replace at least one of these with a new and hopefully inexpensive radio. Thanks for the help!!!
  8. Hi all, Anyone know of a good place on the east coat to my KX 155 TSO repaired? It just laid down last week, no display, no noise...dead. Thanks! Jim
  9. Hi all, I've been having a few issues that are sporadic with my over voltage light/relay. The relay keeps popping off (reset by pulling field breaker). There was a loose wire on the alternator that we thought was the culprit, but after fixing we still have the issue. Alternator has <500 hours and there is no rhyme or reason to when it pops (load, weather, ect). For instance I flew 2.5 hours from Ohio and it popped only once, but popped of 6x on a 50 minute flight. My thought is to replace both the voltage regulator and the Overvoltage relay...but thought I would consult all the smarter people on Mooney space! Thoughts? Thanks! Jim
  10. Just wanted to add some feedback about AGL Aviation in Morganton, NC. They are simply the best, nicest people and Lyn knows Mooneys quite well but on my last visit they truly were beyond amazing. I had a new Garmin G5 attitude indicator installed and had to go back to AGL for an over voltage light that we did not have time to address at my last visit. While Lyn was fixing a broken connector in my alternator he discovered a crack in my #2 exhaust manifold (just because he always looks for anything wrong whenever he's looking at an airplane). As it turned out, the manifold was in fact broken and Lynn offered me the manifold off his airplane because I was departing on a long trip! Unfortunately his manifold did not fit (C model versus F model) so he called a guy that flew in on his helicopter, took my manifold to his shop, repaired it and returned in an hour and had me on my way. He only charged me what the repair was which was $45! Amazing, just good people running a great company. No matter where you are, I suggest you take for plane to AGL for your annual. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me anytime.
  11. Hi All, Anyone have issues with the over voltage light coming on more and more frequently? It resets if I pull and reset the field breaker. Thanks! Jim
  12. Thanks Mlm!
  13. I also purchased the Garmin Wass Antenna, so I guess the garmin transponder will be my next purchase for the ADSB compliance
  14. Thanks very much for all the input! New G5 is on the way!
  15. Hi All, I'm looking to upgrade my Attitude indicaotr to an electric AI, any suggestions? (I don't have a certified gps on my plane). Thanks!
  16. Did the company simply close it's doors or did they file bankruptcy? Are there any creditors that are owed? If so there can be a claim made for any assets which has value the company owns (the STC's).
  17. I use them about 30-40 times per year and have problems with the cars actually being at the airport about 5% of the time.
  18. My F is at KUZA if you're interested
  19. Yes, and it flashes every second. My best understanding of the poor instructions is that it flashes every four seconds after it connects to a network. Is that right? thanks very much!
  20. I purchased this and a prepaid sim card from ATT, but it still blinks every second. Does this mean it's not hooked in tthe GSM network? Thanks for the help!!
  21. It seems to be with the gear down with >20" of MP. I'll do some more test flying this week. Seems to be the same yaw no matter what the flaps setting.
  22. Has anyone else with an F model noticed a tendency to yaw with gear down, full flaps and under a decent amount of power such as flying a long ILS?
  23. I'm at Rock Hill- UZA and happy to help. PM me and we'll arrange a time
  24. AGL Aviation without a doubt, worth the trip. Let me know if you need help with logistics.
  25. Please Add Myself to the list and Allen Osbourne ( who has a '67 E) Looking forward to it!!!
