Spoken like a man who never worked in the financial industry. 28 pages to regulate insurance companies and hospitals? Are you high? Too much incense and sacramental wine? I think our contract with Staples for delivery of printer paper is longer than that. Great coverage they once had? You mean the one where you were dropped the second you got sick, either directly or by 1000% percent premium increase at renewal in the few states where renewal was even required.

Where are you getting you stats, Dave. Because there is something in the law called premium subsidy ;-) That mythical family of 4 living on $40K a year (BTW, how is that possible), cannot spend more than $4K on premiums annually in total. There was a large increase in premiums in states with lax insurance laws that previously allowed companies to offer useless coverage. It's no surprise that premiums have increased in these states as regulations became uniform across the country. Premiums have actually declined across the board in states where insurance was previously "well regulated". Something does not add with your math. A family of 4 making that $40K a year, cannot spend more than 8% of their income on health insurance premium. That's $3.2K a year total. So where does that $4K come from whom does it affect? Maybe people who can pay it just fine and previously were in high deductible, low coverage plans. Obamacare is wonderful for your mythical family. For the first time they have access to health insurance. Obamacare hurts upper middle class, a group well known for its whining about everything under the sun. Their income did not go down $2000 since Obama took office, all the had to do was have $5000 in the stock market in 2008 in order to more than make up the loss of $2000 otherwise. My QQQ holdings are up almost 350% since the crash. I don't even do individual stocks. You're a pilot, math is not that hard.

Regressives made the same justifications for lies that led to Iraqi war. It is a matter of public record that the entire justification was fabricated at the highest levels of government. So? Where was the honest debate then? Was I being a patriot when I was one of the few who spoke against in 2002 and 2003 and predicted the exact cluster fuck we are in?

Of course that this is "discrimination against religious right". So? Once again, freedom from mental anguish is not a constitutionally protected right. That is the only way the religious right is being affected. All in their heads, literally. Members of the KKK are anguished daily when they see integrated public schools. So? I'm suffer from mental anguish each time I see a jacket ride up at the grocery store and see a weapon. Like the 3 country boys last night at the grocery store buying cases of Bush. All had exposed holsters. Price of freedom, as you would say. In a fight between gay mafia and the clergy, I'm rooting for the gay mafia. And yes, John, I admit it is a fight against the clergy. So? Been going on for centuries. I am not equating religious right to KKK. Every square is a rectangle, not every rectangle is a square. KKK bends the christian religion to justify their beliefs. Actually, they do not have to do that much bending. All 3 of the major religions had to actually be bent considerably to be compatible with modern western world. In their literal interpretations, they are not compatible with democratic or republican forms of government.

To quote Ferris Bueller, "If you've got the means, I highly recommend it". I don't have the means currently, but it's my dream machine. Spent 4 years bumming around in one when I was a part of larger company. Now I have to rough it in my beat up Bravo.

It's definitely enough to get your attention, I think it's about 50% of the required weight/pressure There is not other airplane like the KA350. Full fuel useful of 1600b, 1600nm range, 300knots, FL350 ceiling, 100gph, single engine rate of climb close to 900fpm. Let's not forget that any weekend warrior can fly it and fly it safely. Well, not any, but it's not hard. Much easier than any piston twin. Only problem is $300K a year to run it 150 hours plus capital costs. 3 times what it costs to run a TBM.

Well, Except that pendulum never swings as far back, now does it. You got to swing it when you can. You know that. It works for the right ideology, too. Look at the gun rights and freedom to religion decisions of last few decades. Everybody's gotten something. Welcome to the Republic. Cheers. Appealing to empathy and the heart is always a loosing battle. You have to appeal to reason. That's why we have judges with as much power as congress and the executive. Cheers. Have a great weekend, Everyone. Or Don't.

Why do always assume we think Christianity is wrong for you? I could not care less, John. Some people go chasing UFOs on the weekend, some go chasing sasquatch, some go chasing eternal salvation. As far as I am concerned, all are futile pursuits, but who am I to judge? There is a major difference though between UFO people and your people. UFO people do not attempt to get a tax exemption for what usually is the choicest real estate in any city, especially the older ones. UFO people do not attempt to codify their beliefs into law and force their beliefs onto others via the force of the state. As simple as that. You are no better at live and let live than the "gay mafia" and you are just whining because lately you have been on the losing side. That's all there is to it.

Most Americans not born into money find vacations stressful. That includes the 47% who vacation year around. There is a reason why so many are on social security disability: stress. It's a self feeding loop. I just want to save the republic money and stimulate the economy with 6 weeks of paid vacation

Lucky Cirrus Pilot - Wake Turbulence
AndyFromCB replied to GeorgePerry's topic in Miscellaneous Aviation Talk
Just going into KAPA always gives me paranoia. I once missed a Cessna there going around from 28 while they were landing me and what appeared to be 20 others on 35R. Seriously, by like 100 feet. I could hear the relief in controller's voice. I was landing real long on purpose and the Cessna just kept on getting pushed south by the wind and making no progress what so ever climbing... That has to be the busiest GA airport I have ever been to. -
Thanks for the info. I just always wondered why such a simple system isn't on other aircraft. I should go look at the systems page and see whether it's connected to squat or gear switch. I can see it giving quite a wild ride on the ground before V1.

Yeap, My favorite twin, KA350 with ProLine 21 and optional voice radar altimeter. If I ever make some real money, it will be my last airplane. It takes real hard work to kill youself in it. Spend a lot of hours in that airplane working various little hellholes in the midwest in the early 2000's. It never let us down. Not once. It would go completely problem free between 200 hour inspections.

Dave, I didn't mean yaw damper. I mean real "auto" rudder. A KA200 or KA350 will actually kick the rudder for you in the direction of good engine. Not all that's needed but more than enough to stay upright..I was just wondering whether ATR or DO-328 for example have a similar system: From KA350 manual: A rudder boost system pneumatically positions the rudder to compensate for asymmetric engine power differences. With the RUDDER BOOST switch in ON, the BLEED AIR VALVES switches in OPEN or ENVIR OFF, and engine bleed air avail- able, the rudder boost system is active. If engine power difference increases (i.e., failed engine), a dif- ferential pressure switch (P) moves toward the low pressure side. Once pressure differential reaches approximately 60 ±4 PSI, the switch opens the opposite side’s shutoff valve. The shutoff valve then supplies bleed air to the rudder servo to drive the rudder toward the engine producing more power. With the BLEED AIR VALVE switch(es) in INST & ENVIR OFF the rudder boost relay interrupts pressure differential switch power supply to disengage the rudder boost system.
-
Isn't the rudder boosted on an ATR? Sorry, only "real airplane" I have any real time are various King Airs. I recall very clearly, at least on KA the rudder moving automatically more or less. Sure, in order to maintain perfection and achieve maximum rate of climb available, you had to finesse it a bit more and yes, about 5 degrees of bank helped a ton with the rate of climb. Don't most large commuter turbo pops have auto rudder?
-
In anything with auto feather or NTS, do nothing. There was no rush to do anything. The yaw damper was probably on. Climb away, clear all obstacles, then start worrying about which engine just died. Had they done nothing, they would have lived.

Relax Scott, See my post above. Agreed with everything you said. John is still good at talking out of his ass and claiming moral high ground just as much as I do ;-) Let me repost: I was not aware first amendment applied in public schools either. There was a ruling all the way from the top on that one few years ago, IIRC. Anyways, what is a bisexual activity? Sounds like fun, but apparently I have not spent enough time on porn hub com. I shall have to check it out. Anyways, it is a selective, private school, they do get to do as they choose. "Gay mafia" stops at the property line. It's not a business generally open to public. It's the same with Catholic schools firing pregnant, unmarried teachers. Not very Christian of them, considering the entire basis of their fairy tale, but non the less, fully within their rights. But then I do remember a few teachers always bringing the same "friend" with them to school functions, so as usual, it all came down to semantics. Everybody knew what the friend really was. And as I stated, should we manage to reproduce, my offsprings will probably go to a Catholic school as well. If they take after me, they will be good meaning trouble makers and public school is no place for that. You can actually reason with a Jesuit principal. You cannot reason with a public school district employee.

Yeah, we don't do them fancy things here. All I ever hear is cleared direct as filed, climb and maintain FLXXX

For those of us flying IFR in the midwest, what's a fix

Sounds like high altitude stall and spin, quite possibly related to engine out condition. I don't think you can unspin a King Air or for that matter a Baron.
