You sound very confused, the more I talk to you, Scott. Like that Taco Bell girl. You can't be a true conservative and support our little foreign ventures at the same time. It's either more debt and foreign ventures, or less debt, and keeping our much smaller armed forces at home to protect us against Canadians. But alas, that ship has sailed. Foreign ventures must continue to support the dollar as a world reserve currency so that our debt continues not to matter. All issues discussed here are purely theoretical things will go on like they have until they can't no more and then you'll have to reset. But it will not be voted upon by us. It will forced onto us. Tomorrow or 200 years from now. Who knows.

Just like moderate Christians here in US of A don't fully follow the death cult. Even the literal readers. If they did, none of them would have ever married while waiting for the Lord to return and the faith would have died out long time ago. Instead it's a giant disappointment waiting for rapture. There are sects here in US of A that would love nothing more than to burn you, me and the rest of the heathens at the stake if they had a chance. Instead, they decided to promote death penalty for homosexuals in Africa. Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council, you know, that loving group, spent hundreds of thousands promoting this shit in Africa. Cause you know, when you message no longer clicks here but with low rung, why not move onto Africa.

Shitty piloting and preflight planning. Are you claiming the performance tables are fake? Most engine outs in a twin do not end up in a crash. The ones that do make the news. Bet you that ATR was way over the weight required to make the climb gradient...The Wichita crash was simply shit piloting, that's all. Like I said, KA200 with one pilot aboard, with only one running will out climb your Mooney any day of the week, any airport conditions. You want to fly a twin, take recurrent once every 6 months. That's what our corporate pilots did when I worked with a company that had a fleet of King Airs. Actually, you want to fly anything, take recurrent every 6 months. I have a long list of IPC stickers in the back of my logbook. About once every 6 months.

Jose, See my post above. You really have no business flying if you cannot control a KA with an engine out. I am serious when I say they fly better with one engine out than most singles do with one running. Most KA have auto feather, which is supposed to be verified during the first flight of the day and turned on on take off. So unless the pilot disabled it, in flat lands of Wichita, KS, on a cold fall day, with only one person aboard, that king air should have climbed away at 1000fpm or more on one. It was a Blackhawk conversion, which means flat rated 850hp available with just one running.
-
Actually, if you look at the chart in video, they are right on blue line, they achieve 300fpm climb and the tests were performed at gross weight or whatever the equivalent of gross would be for that specific density altitude. This is about what every light twin will do, about 300fpm or so at gross, at sea level.
-
Not a problem in Diamond. It has auto feather, just like King Air. Have you ever flown a twin? It's not seconds, it's an immediate feeling. Dead foot, dead engine. Just got to learn to keep your feet on the ruder during take off. And if you're already at 200feet, your speed and gear is already up, there is no rush to do anything. You can take your sweet time. The only time it's truly scary is the few seconds during the gear transition time, which in a twin should happen immediately upon rotation and verified positive. If you're smart, you use a long runway with flat approaches on both ends. If you fly most piston twins according to the book, load them according to charts (which means a lot under gross under certain conditions), they will fly away on one. But you are correct, the rate of climb can leave a lot of be desired, or not. Just depends how much stuff you load up. Look at a Cessna 421C. At certain airports (hot and high), you really need to be 1000lb under gross, and you will get 500fpm climb which is quite respectable. You also really need to stick to longer runways and obey the accelerate-stop-go tables. This usually means a fuel stop in 2 hours. Some operators will choose safety, take off light, stop for fuel east of the rockies. Some operators will fill her up and go, and assume the risk of 0 to -100fpm climb rate in case of engine failure. You can be as safe in a twin or as dangerous as you choose to be. In a commuter category, like KA350 or the ATR, you're not supposed to have that choice. You must obey runway requirements and engine out climb gradients and if you do, the outcome should not be in question. Flying a KA350 on one is just as simple as flying a Mooney one one. There just isn't that much to do but climb away, clear obstacles and then pull out the checklist. The autopilot will fly it just fine one too once you level off for checklist. Let's not make twins or GA in general sound any worse than it already is. Here is you table for a 421C. Don't have a KA350 table handy, but a KA350 at gross, at sea level, ISA will fly away at 775fpm, which like I said, is better or as good as a M20J.

Low Manifold Pressure on Take Off in Mooney Bravo
AndyFromCB replied to rocketman's topic in Mooney Bravo Owners
Anthony, Is it only 260? I thought it was 270? I better check my book. I never really felt the Bravo was lacking for power. I casually went around few weeks ago at 24/2400, with gear and flaps hanging out and still managed to get back up to pattern altitude. Granted it was only me and 20 gallons of fuel. Never retracted anything. But yes, good point on exhaust leaks. Exhaust leaks and broken clamps kills Bravo pilots. 3 dead so far. That's 1 in 100 chance. -
They're savages, but so are we. I've said it before. Gasoline in a cage vs a hit from a Mk77, end result, the same, for those on the receiving end. If we're going to be savages, let's have a good reason to go in, kill, main and get out. I am not a fan of the foreign ventures. We along with the Saudis funded these fuckers for good two years in Syria before they turned. The whole enemy of my enemy is my friend only works for so long, especially in the middle east, where they are sick and tired of Christ's love delivered from above. Maybe they weren't ready for Freedom . As to ISIS' theatrics, if I was only a bit more cynical than I am, I'd think Fox lend them some cameramen to drag us back into that cluster fuck. From everything I read from former captured who were freed thanks to ransom paid, it appears the most violent ones of the bunch are the ones who grew up in the West. Surprise, surprise. They learnt from the best. We in the western world have perfected delivery of violence under pretense of civilization. Like I stated before, we have a 600 year jump start on them.

Jose, Here is a nice video for you. Not exactly know for best single engine performance, but still does just fine. 42NG is actually my favorite light twin, right after Seneca V.
-
Looked feather to me, Byron. You are the pro here, but I've seen them spin very slowly on KA even when feathered.

You keep on talking like that and soon you will loose whatever support you have among younger generation and then it's bye bye republican party. Won't be a big loss. It would a lot more honest if the choice was between libertarians and liberals. Both have good ideas. Two current sitting parties have none. Keep on voting on your social agenda. Makes you no different than a democrat. A do gooder...

not really true when it comes to comparing piston vs turbine. Turbine engines are exponentially more reliable. Or you simply fly the blue line speed? Whether it takes you up a few hundred FPM, or down a few hundred FPM, it's still better and more controllable than a single. Pilots who do Vmc rollovers are usually the same kind of folks who would fuck up a forced landing. There is nothing magical about flying a twin.

commuter category, different certification requirements

Once again, BS. The mass killings in our schools are due to mentally deranged individuals and no amount of Jesus would fix that. Also, I am very much for god in our public school. I strongly believe in well rounded, scientific and liberal arts education. I think all students should be required to take a few history of religion and theology classes as part of their public schooling learning about history of religion, various gods and customs through out history as well as various theological philosophies from Confucius, to Thomas Aquinas, to Martin Luther and Ghandi. How much do you want to be if I proposed 6 years of this as a requirement in public schools starting in 7th grade, the religious right would loose their shit as it would expose their children to varied information. I highly doubt the liberal lefties would have a problem with that.

Dave, Educate yourself and read about DNA markers and mitochondrial DNA. Do you really think there is a vast conspiracy between 99.99% of world's biologists? You don't need thousands of skeletons to prove something, but yes, they do exist. Hundreds though, not thousands. By your logic, protons, electrons and neutrons don't exist as they can never be directly observed. Nuclear weapons are just mumbo jumbo. Sorry buddy, that ship has sailed and I will not waste my time. Apparently once again, you have a problem understanding how fossilization works. Most skeletons from 33AD are long gone and absence of evidence in this case is not a proof of anything. I don't have to prove anything to you. I just simply have to fund the fight against you having any influence on public schooling. As simple as that. That's what I will focus on.

State of TX did not so long ago, 2003, Lawrence vs State of TX. Do you really think we've advanced so far in our libetarianism. It was only 2 years ago when the attorney general of Virigina tried to outlaw blowjobs in the state, mind you, and not just between homos. No head for anyone. I'm sure this was the most pressing issue Virginia was facing at the time.
-
Except that it's not. It creeps back into the public school curriculum over and over again. It has to be litigated over and over again. It's turning entire generation of Americans into idiots when the largest text book consumer in the union, TX, continues to edit science text books to include religious bias. There is enough time on Sunday to plug children's brains with bullshit. Let's stick to science Monday-Friday. We keep on down this path and the Chinese and Koreans will simply destroy us and our ability to compete in globalized workforce.

Lets leave George and Dick out of it. Learn from it, don't repeat but I do not think that trying past heads of state leads to any good results other than instability like it does in South American. Let George and Dick be, but teach honest history that shows they knew what they were doing when they dragged us into that war.
