  1. Yeap, i'd rather be in my Mooney at 155 than the back of the bus at 576 any day. Of course seat 4a isn't too bad!
  2. +1 mich air stop tubes
  3. Yeap, went to mid-continent. Not cheap: 4 AMU's.
  4. I have TKS on my 201 and the system is most valuable when flying into unpredictable cloud layers. More than a few time I've flown into Albany and Buffalo when the forecast was scattered and I get there and it is broken or overcast This is not fun in a clean wing Mooney like my old C.
  5. Was in Staniel a few years ago in my J. Best Mooney trip ever.
  6. Wow, that is smokin! Got to 209 knots in my J heading from Lafayette, IN to Philly a few years back..
  7. BTW, No FIKI available on a 201
  8. I have a 201 with TKS. I've been happy with the system and ironically have picked up ice plenty of times with no AIRMET for icing. Flying in the cold months in WNY it is bound to happen and the system really helps with the pucker factor. One time in my old C I had to descend through an unforecasted cloud layer flying into Albany in the cold. It was not fun and it made a convincing case for TKS. It slows the airplane down, fluid is expensive, and takes time and effort to maintain, but one doesn't think or care about that when shooting an ILS at -2degC.
  9. Can count on 155 knots. Will fly 158 with just me and 50 gallons of fuel (6000 ft)
  10. Price $129,000
  11. Love that i can use my iPAD
  12. I will be there Friday.. Flying down next weekend.
  13. Quote: aviatoreb Wouldn't that be something - a GA airport hangar club with a bar, a pool, a fancy restaurant.
  14. My bird is back on the market.. came close to a deal wtih a fellow mooneyspacer, but he couldn't make it work without a partner..
  15. 1st airplane was purchased when I was 25: 1965 M20C - my father nicknamed it "the ring" because i had a choice between getting engaged/married and buying an airplane and I you can see what choice I made 2nd airplane is my current M20J at 28 - used for business and also a key element to establishing/maintaining a relationship with my now wife that lived in Albany, Ny when I lived in Philly - she loves to fly and is a keeper.. Trying to get into my 3rd airplane now - M20R Ovation at 34
