  1. The images are too small.
  2. I recently replaced all side windows in my M20E and there is slightl bulging in the skins anyways from bolt to bolt in the window mounting that it would probably be a wash and a waste of time. Plus you have no options for a mistake. If you machine it wrong, it would look worse in my opinion because the window would have gaps or tight spots where you made a mistake. I think your best bet is to keep it simple and cheaper and keep your windows flush the regular method.
  3. I had a similiar transaction dealing with a guy trying to buy my motorcycle a couple years ago. It seemed too good to be true. He was sending a check in the mail "overnight". I waited and no check arrived. I contacted him and told him that it never arrived. Which truthfully it never did. So he sent another overnight package and this time it arrived. I had him send it to my office so he wouldn't have my home address. The package showed up. I was thinking I could nail this prick so I contacted my friends brother who is a State Police officer here in Vermont. "Nope, not interested in interstate fraud". I was like "WHAT!". I've got this guys finger prints, his mailing address, FedEx has his credit card or at least some kind of ID on this guy plus all the emails going back and forth. Apparently $3500 of fraud doesn't mean as much as it used to. And now we've got a $24,000 airplane that also isn't worth it. Then what are we paying these guys for? Needless to say I wasted a lot of this guys time and money. Hopefully that alone deterred him a little bit! Just like what you are doing this prick! Good job. Keep it up. Sounds like you've got him on the hook.
  4. My mechanic told me to use these for the battery access panel on the rear left side of the plane. Studs 82-19-120-20 Wear washer 82-46-101-39
  5. Good luck. I'm 6'2" and my E is a good fit. But with some sort of extension you should be fine. A C or E will be perfect for you as you'll be so far forward your rear seaters will have plenty of leg room too.
  6. On my 1970 m20e with electric gear when the gear moves up/down I can hear it as well as literally feel it move into the up and down positions. As the gear has moved into 1 of the 2 positions. Up or Down. My question is, is this normal to actually feel it in your butt? My plane is in annual now so I will be going to see the gear up/down on the jacks and I want to ask my mechanic if something is rubbing or what not but I've only got about 20 hours in the plane so don't know what's normal. Does anyone else feel this? Thanks.
  7. In my 1946 Cessna 140 I would always run one tank dry to ensure I used all the fuel in that tank and I knew how much I was burning. It also ensured that I got maximum range out of it. But with the Mooney and it's much larger tanks and range I don't think I'll need to burn until empty.
  8. I've got a question about the nose wheel shock absorber. As you can see in my picture my old shock has been removed. Going through pictures of Mooney's I see most of them also have no shock absorber. Is there a reason why it was installed and then later it is removed? I can imagine that it's to prevent the nose from bouncing too much on landing. Mine was removed because it no longer had any shock absorber action and we put new Lord shock discs in. So my question is, why has everyone else's Mooney had theirs removed? Because it was no longer working or was it that it isn't really necessary.
  9. From what I understand about aircraft CHT is that this might be due to a cylinder running richer than the rest. It might be an unbalanced fuel system. If you are really worried about it I would ask your mechanic and perhaps try swapping that cylinder with one of your hotter ones and seeing if that reduced the hot cylinder and brings up the cold cylinder to a better match.
  10. The link is dead now. Thanks a lot National Geographic.
  11. After refurbishing.
  12. Damn. That is crazy. There's no way I would pay that kind of money for a simple pressure gauge.
  13. Help. My m20e 1970 model also has some play in it. Seems like $1000 for this little part is awfully overpriced. What options are out there really?
