  1. My new SkyTec starter ground off it's teeth this past year with about 30 hours of flying and about 15 starts. It does have the correct teeth too. 149, I counted all of them on the flywheel. Not to be discouraged I bought another SkyTec Inline High Torque model from Aircraft Spruce for $400.
  2. Nothing wrong with flying fast. I just like to fly fast and cheap. So the Carson number is the best way to get there fast as well as save the most fuel at the same time.
  3. http://www.aopa.org/members/files/pilot/2010/december/technique.html I found this article on AOPA website today. When I get back from my deployment I will be trying out this technique. My question is, what is the VG speeds on our Mooney m20e's? Does it vary? And if so then I guess what would be the Carson Speed? After purchasing the Mooney, I'm all about efficient flying. In fact I'm planning on removing the belly strobe when I get back to help reduce the drag.
  4. Mine clunks too. I am getting the donuts and the bushing changed when I get back from my tour.
  5. I went with the thicker windows on the side for my M20E. I haven't changed the windshield yet but the small amount of price difference I always go for the thicker to try and muffle some of the engine and prop blast.
  6. Wait, wait, wait, there. I'm a 39 year old Captain in the Army. Not all of us are old and gray.
  7. Please send or attach pictures. I have the AD prop. And I would like to someday replaec mine. What it the total time?
