  1. Hey naughty boy Dave Make sure they are correct as mine were upgraded to Clevelend at some point so OEM discs would not work...
  2. +1 Could have been me writing that. The difference in reduced maintenance/length of service and cranking power of the Concorde is a NO-Brainer. THE BEST (for the money) upgrade I ever did with my plane.
  3. Maybe a Barnum & Bailey customer. Is that a Pitot tube or a hollowed out Civil War bayonet?
  4. I have NEVER sprayed my plane with high pressure water. Just really wet towels and spray bottle for bugs. Creeper and spray bottle and wet towels with safety glasses and hat while underneath. Agree 100% that plane "feels" and looks so much better when clean. Just waxed mine last week...a LOT of work, but worth it.
  5. Except maybe flying it and seeing that it indeed has been.
  6. GOT TWO. THANKS!
  7. THAT LOOKS LIKE A PARTS PLANE. THE VINTAGE FLEET NEEDS TO HAVE SOME PARTS AVAILABLE TOO. EITHER GET 'EM FLYING OR GET 'EM SOLD TO SOMEONE THAT WILL...OR SOMEONE THAT WILL GET THE PARTS OUT THERE FOR THOSE THAT NEED 'EM. THERE ARE MANY CURRENTLY FLYING PLANES (AS STATED) THAT ARE UTIMATELY A WAY BETTER VALUE/GAMBLE THAN A DUSTY HANGER SPACE TAKER. AT LEAST MY HANGER QUEEN LOOKED THE PART. THIS ONE LOOKS LIKE THE STEPMOTHER MADE HER WASH SOME OTHER HANGER FLOOR...IT HAS BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE SHE HAS BEEN TO THE BALL...
  8. I paid over $50k for NOT as nice an E oveer a decade ago. Good luck with your sale, Scott
  9. UH, OH. I thought that smell was the d.o.g....
  10. Teasing about your legs. Knew you had the modification to retract. I think a 201 with split seats for function and wing tip fairing for looks as well as the 4-banger for speed is perfection...if $ is no object. SR71 HMMmmmm, maybe those two piece windscreen's are O.K. after-all. They are beautiful to me compared to brand C&P...Brand B, that is a different story. If I win the sweepstakes Deb I am "outa-here"...looking back fondly, but keeping it.
  11. Since we are talking "funky"...The old style windscreen's with the bar down the center look "funky" to me compared to a modified 201 style windscreen. I define "funky" as dated, which I agree the two-window F's look more "dated". The windscreen mod actually serves a purpose...It makes the plane faster. The side-window mod is for those that want the look of a J in a mid-body. No speed increase. Purely aesthetic. If I could have afforded an F-Model with extra mid-body length when I purchased my short body M20E...I would have as it is a no-brainer...unless that funky two-window thing is a deal-breaker. For you, it was. For many, it is not.
  12. Find a co-owner, or two. My mission is pleasure. Needed another to have it make any sense. One more would be ideal.
  13. With the wheels up maybe...
  14. I know my A&P does spray Corrosion X (with one-piece belly removed)...so hopefully I am good. Still want to look for that Gold Bullion or PlayBoy under rear seat though...and see for myself. I have not done a super thorough look at spar with belly off. I have closely inspected the wheel-wells with every belly cleaning. (Most recent this weekend). All good there.
  15. I have NEVER seen the seat bottom/back out of my plane in the the decade+ ownership. The one-piece belly cones off and it has been fogged from below...but... That is why I started this thread. I am amazed that most pull the rear seat every annual. I am not sure I am buying it, but why would someone lie about this?....Just another thing I have learned about Mooney's during my tenure as its steward. Hope there are no Black Widows and maybe a vintage PlayBoy under there when I/we peek. We shall see...
  16. All things equal buy the F over the E. The back seat room will be valued and F's sell for more than E's (if equipped the same). If the engine has been sitting price it as "run out". You will likely have too put $28,000 into a new engine in a very short amount of time. A plane that has flown regulary since overhaul (only can see how much /year by logs) My plane was low airframe time and advertised as low engine time since major....The overhaul was NOT an overhaul. If it has sat for a year and NOT been flown Don't treat it as "golden" because low time...since overhaul. ALL overhauls are not equel. Who did it? When? New cylinders? Accessories (mags, oil cooler, muffler, hoses ALL refurbed? Be CAREFUL. What looks like a creampuff could be a moneypit. If you are prepared and pay for what you get...ALL IS WELL. If not, gulp...bend over.
  17. +1 for bird nest....They went through the bulkhead and opening tail round access was only way to see. One piece of stray on elevator and one on ground were only clues...
  18. I have one. Looks like new. PM me if interested. Scott
  19. I won't shun you like everyone else Peter... My reply: So a Government entity gave you service you felt was good... Stop the presses? I get that everyday mail shows up in my mailbox from all over the world... Next.
  20. We are not talking about federalization of 10% of the GNP here... Give it a go.
  21. Would be awesome to have this option. Combined with eliminating the 3rd class medical would get a bunch flying again AND keep many flying longer. Sounds GREAT!
  22. This thread is not worth one second more of my time. No one is changing anyone's minds here. Some have on rose colored glasses regarding Big Government. My eyes are wide open. I just changed my voter registration from Republican to Independent. Some want MORE big government. I don't.
  23. I have battery/glareshield set-up. No problems. I do put cover on if overnight on the road...and it is hangered. You have to remember to power it down if you have it on battery (at shutdown) or it will run down battery and create heat...combined with sun? Could be a problem. Cabin cover and check-list/post shut-down manual off with battery are key.
