You'll have no problem adjusting to the Mooney. All of the horror stories you read about landing by the high wing, slow flying and gas guzzling crowds are false. I moved up from a Cherokee and have had mine for around three months and put sixty hours on her. I landed in a 13 knot crosswind the other day for the first tim and she handeled it like a charm. Give Quality Aircraft Accessories in Tulsa a try. I had an issue with an alternator a few months back and had no luck going the usual routes and they came through for me. Will do Craig. I'll work on getting them loaded over the holidays. My in-laws live away so we're getting ready to fire the Mooney up and head down to spend a few days with them. Everybody out there have a great Christmas!

I have an unheated hanger but i do have two space heaters that are configured with scat hose to go up into the cowl flaps. I turn these on the night before I fly and it seems to work fairly well at getting motor and oil warmed up.

Hello everybody. Bodie here with a beautiful 1977 M20J I purchased in September of 08. I moved up from a Cherokee 140 that I got my license in and fly 50/50 for biz/pleasure.I 'm still getting accustomed to the plane and have about 60 hours in it. I had a new paint job, leather interior, Stec with alt hold, 430 WAAS, JPI engine moniter and some other toys installed prior to my purchase. This is the first winter that I have had my Mooney and was wondering if any of you guys in the cold wx states used a specific method to get the bird started in colder temps.
