  1. Not exactly true! Most installations require some sort of backup. And while the G5 or GI-275 may be smaller, it has all of the same information as the larger unit and the backup instruments also have their own battery backup. The example I posted has two separate backups.
  2. He was asking $115K. I wonder what he actually got for it...
  3. I'm looking for a fuel gauge for my right fuel tank, picture attached. The PN is 169BK-910-3-1LBW. LASAR has one for sale with a PN of 169BK-910-4LBW https://lasar.com/gauges/right-fuel-gauge-28v-169bk-910-4lbw-880059-103-28v. And it's on sale!!! Any idea if these are the same?
  4. Not very many of these older Mooneys that have brakes on the right side...
  5. Does anyone have a source of supply other than LASAR for the Heim bearing (F34-14N)?
  6. How is the safety wire secured between the gaps? Just twisted? Do you have any pictures?
  7. What would be the best way to clean up the mess someone made with the RTV here? Does this stuff need to be scraped off or is there a solvent that will remove it?
  8. Do you have a picture or diagram of this lower baffle?
  9. Would anyone have a source for the subject button?
  10. Why don't you want people to see the tail number?
  11. How do you preselect altitude? Still using the KAS297? What GPS are you using to drive everything?
  12. I guess the next logical question is how long to run the engine past TBO. My A&P says he's 100% comfortable signing anything off up to 2500 hours and then past that up to about 3,000 hours based on oil analysis, etc. Does anyone here have experience going past TBO that they can share?
  13. I don't doubt you, but this is the response I got when I asked my current broker why an E model was the same cost as an Ovation: "Aviation insurance premiums are a % of the hull value. With that, similar hull valued Mooney’s tend to have similar premiums."
  14. Why are K models cheaper?
  15. What are you paying? And what’s your experience and hull value?
