  1. I would also like to understand the LOP best RPM
  2. I added the STC doc from Minnis showing 2500 as the minimum RPM
  3. Verification Request – Cruise RPM Limitation in 310 HP STC (SA02193CH) I'm seeking clarification regarding a cruise power limitation published in the AFM Supplement for the 310 HP STC (SA02193CH) applied to the Mooney M20R. In a copy of the AFM Supplement (Document SUPP0029, dated 11/14/2017), the Log of Revisions under “Revision B” contains the following entry: > “Revised maximum Cruise RPM to read Minimum Cruise RPM - 2500” Approved by Charles L. Smalley – dated 3/7/2011 I would appreciate it if someone could help verify the accuracy and operational applicability of this change: Is this 2500 RPM considered a minimum required RPM during level cruise? Is this change still current and applicable to all aircraft operating under this STC? I’m operating an M20R with the IO-550N (310 HP STC) and want to ensure I'm adhering to correct cruise power procedures per FAA-approved documentation.
  4. I need this wing gauge for my Mooney Ovation. Does anyone have any kicking around?
  5. How did this go? I am doing the same shortly with the same equipment. Garmin now has your calibrate with flaps up as well. Did you do that? What were your speeds?
  6. What speeds did you use for the AOA calibration? AOA Calibration Min Vis AOA 1.5 x VSO (100 KIAS) Stall Warning AOA at Stall Caution Alert AOA 1.1 x VSO (Stall + 5 KIAS) Approach Target AOA 1.3 x VSO (500FPM Short Final Speed 75 KIAS)
  7. Ah yes, the classic ‘someone posted something I don’t like, so I must now have a public meltdown’ approach. A bold choice. Listen, my dude, I bumped the thread because I’m planning a literal transatlantic flight, not because I’m trying to sell you vitamins or get you to join my pyramid scheme. But I totally get it, critical thinking is hard. That said, thanks to the renewed attention, I actually got a super helpful PM connecting me with a pilot who’s done some truly insane long-range flights, including Germany to Tasmania. Found here: https://youtu.be/OG5oSboLq2I?feature=shared So, you know… actual valuable discussion is happening here. But hey, you do you. If getting angry at forum posts is your thing, I hear the YouTube comment section is hiring. Anyway, thanks for your contribution to the discussion. It’s been super helpful.
  8. This is perfect Dan as I fly the M20R with the 310 STC and FIKI so I will likely see similar numbers as yourself.
  9. Is Jose not around anymore? I am planning an Atlantic crossing this summer and he seemed to be a wealth of knowledge.
  10. Do you still have these?
  11. Thank you very much. They look pretty solid.
  12. Thank you. I will try that.
  13. I'm reaching out to see if anyone knows a skilled Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) who can help me with some crucial tasks on my 1996 Mooney Ovation (C-GJOG). Specifically, I need assistance with mounting the engine and propeller. There are also a few other items that need attention. The aircraft has been grounded for nearly a year. Unfortunately, my current AME hasn't been able to make any progress or provide a timeline, and I really need to get these tasks completed as soon as possible. If you know someone who could help or if you have any recommendations, please let me know. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. The plane is currently sitting in MY hanger.
  14. Solid response. Clear instructions and photos. I wish everyone on this forum could respond like this. Great job!
  15. Would you mind posting photos of the install? it would be nice to see the bottom where the hinge is.
  16. @Gee Bee Aeroproducts Is that the Bob Fields door seal with an extra mod?
  17. The trip has been postponed until this summer. I will post the story and deets once it happens. I do hope to get more discussion on the topic since our aircraft are very much X Atlantic birds. "Bump" is a term used in online forums and message boards that refers to the act of posting a message in an older, inactive thread in order to 'bump' it back to the top of the list of active threads. The purpose of bumping is to draw attention to the thread in the hopes of eliciting a response or generating new discussion.
  18. Has anyone installed one of these on their aircraft? I own one and am getting ready to set it up on my M20R. I opted for the motorized version. I'm eager to connect with individuals who have hands-on experience or are aware of someone with AMA certification to discuss this. Thanks! I would love to see photos of an install how the seal navigates around the locking pins and the bottom hinge arm. I have the deluxe version so if anyone has any photos of the deluxe install of how the tube is installed from the aircraft to the fuselage. As I get mine installed, I'll edit and post updates here on what was useful. 1. Old Seal Removal - I used Peerco Adhesive Remover 321. It worked like a dream. It's a bit like a gel so you can apply it and leave it to sit for a couple hours and anything sticky wipes right off with little to no elbow grease. I was dreading this part of the process, but the Peerco made it easy. It smells like oranges so it wasn't as offensive as other types of chem removers
  19. Ha ha ha wow. I was reading this response and was thinking, huh, this really sounds like this member used ChatGPT to write this... Then I looked at user name "ChatGPT"
  20. Thank you. I will look into it, but it won't be a deal breaker for me.
  21. Thank you for all the great info. We are planning to stop in the Faroe Islands.
