  1. Thanks everyone. This is what I was looking for. Possible options for a temporary install to protect the engine which I have never had with the intent of getting full panel next year or so. DD
  2. What would you do? I just had a new reman from Western put in my 66 M20E with a Ray Jay. I would like to get a temporary engine monitor. This new engine took all my money for now but would like to get a Dynon system next year or a little late. What would be the most practical and efficient monitor to get for the interim time? Preferably if possible used. Thanks, Dick
  3. Don't know if you already have this but if you don't it might help DickMooney Turbo 21 POH Rayjay.pdf
  4. This story is almost identical to mine. They are almost done with it to the tune of about $75k less the 36 the insurance paid. 10 months without the plane. Dick
  5. Thank you much appreciated. Now I see what the yellow wire was for. Unneeded in my application. DD
  6. I am putting in a PTT in the yolk of my "65 M20E. I am using the PC hole. All of the PC has been removedl. I have been able to thread wires through the vacuum holes in the yolk and down the tube and need to connect it properly. I accidentally pulled too hard on the telex velcro PTT so can't see where they went. It had three wires. Yellow Red and Blue. I can see only two white wires that seem to come from the jacks. What was the yellow wire for? Do I need all three or can I just connect up two?
  7. I just took an old leather belt and made one. Has worked well and stronger.
  8. I have always found the older Ted Talk fascinating.
  9. Hpw did you string the wires through the yoke. The holes are extremely small
  10. Thank. That is exactly what I was looking for. Mine is and E model too. I'm wondering if I could legally drill into the yoke to make the holes larger?
  11. I have a ' E that has had the Positive Control removed. I've looked but can't find a topic, but has anybody put in a push to talk in disengage on the yoke?
  12. They are being chicken shit. Could have done anything they wanted as to as to total completion date. Would never go back to them and would let the world know all about it.
  13. So am I missing something? I thought the best way to go with just a nominal amount of cost was with the GI275s
  14. of course it does. I stay on top of eveything regardiing annual and 100 hour, take care of every thing that may come up as far as any maintinance needs.
  15. Sometimes I feel like an ignorant mooney owner and pilot. I fly my '65 M20 E and just enjoy it and fix what needs to be fixed when it needs it. Then I read something about and down play in my pivot to nose truss connection and have no idea what is being discussed. Everything on this site seems to talk about what should be could be isn't quite right and want it to be. Should I quit flying because I don't know as much as many of you do and am not concerned about every detail of the plane? Help me.
  16. Don't know if this will help you but this what I have found. DD RAJAY Flight Manual Supplement for E.pdf Rajay Airplane Flight Manual Supplement11122019.pdf
  17. Just another good site. https://www.aopa.org/news-and-media/all-news/2022/august/pilot/events-hangout-in-spokane
  18. Hope to see a bunch of you coming to this event in Spokane. Wonderful area and nice airport. Lots of activities and it should be fun. Look into it and come. https://www.aopa.org/news-and-media/all-news/2022/august/pilot/events-hangout-in-spokane Dick
  19. Did this when my grand son was just months old and then had him fly with me as he got older. He is now a graduate of UND bachilors programe and instucting. Commericial heliocopter with double II as well as being checked out in my M20E. Start them young and create the interest. I am so blessed tat happpened. DD
  20. Found this interesting. Totally side story. My 23 yo grandson is instucting helicopter a UND having graduated last spring. He's checked out in my 66 M20E but hasn't flown it since last winter. He came home to Spokane so of course we had to go flying and get those three landings in. So he told me that they are going 100% UL94. They have 123 aircraft and 7 helicopters
  21. I put in the tail beacon last year and it has worked great. Talked ATC a few times confirming it's working. I just need to always remember to turn my navigation lights on.
  22. I have a 1966 M20E with a Ray Jay turbo. Just curious what kind of manifold pressure anyone with this is getting say around 12,000 feet? Thanks, Dick
  23. That's good news. I'm going to have my right replace in about 2 months
  24. For me it totally depends on whether it's hard surface or grass. Landed last week at Cavanaugh at Priest Lake (North Idaho) no problem. 3100. But took everything I had to get up on wet grass on take off with just two of us in it.
  25. Any way we can get the insurance carriers to not cover pilot error for gear up landings and we can reduce the cost of insuranfce for those of us that are willing to accept the cost and expense of our own mistakes. i buy for those things over which I have no control. I don't expect the rest of the population to pay for my personal stupidity and am willing to pay for it myself if it happens. Dick
