  1. Can someone save a nice long-body for me, ready in about five years? It doesn't even have to be an Acclaim or Ovation or even an Encore or anything, I'll settle for a Screaming Eagle
  2. And an appreciative shoutout to @kortopates for making a cameo in the story of my final day as an owner (for now).
  3. Well I sold my MSE today, and now I'm but a humble renter again. I was grateful to have one last flight in her, repositioning from the prebuy shop to my hangar where the buyer took delivery. She flew perfectly, the pilot not so much. I hope I was a worthy steward. Anyone have a good "last flight in a plane I sold" story?
  4. Unless your budget disagrees, don’t overthink it, just send them to Hector at AeroComfort. It’s worth it!
  5. I might be overthinking, but I've never liked the idea of leaving my Sidewinder on the nosegear. My thinking was the tow bar receptacle and the wheel probably weren't designed to continuously support the unusual extra weight and force of the Sidewinder, even if it's not incredibly heavy. So I have always kept the Sidewinder off unless I am actively using it.
  6. Fair point. “Probably” might have been a bit too optimistic…
  7. They probably will if you pay them all the money up front and agree to wait a while.
  8. Blancolirio got basic facts wrong in his rush for views, once again? Well knock me over with a feather.
  9. I shortened it to only the calls involving the Mooney. No recorded drama, but sad to listen to after the fact. http://sndup.net/rd5b
  10. Just posted by the BeechTalk user: A friend found it on Live ATC archive. He was inbound to Dallas Airpark (F69) and he told Addison he couldn't find it in the dark. Ended up overshooting and ADS tower had him turn back around and he then said he had sight of the airport and was going to shoot the approach. Tower asks if he is going around and no response. This is verbage from a friend, I did NOT listen to it but it is so sad. I go in to Airpark all the time as our daughter lives very close. It is hard to find during the day, I bet it is VERY hard to find at night in the sea of lights around Addison. Prayers to all involved!
  11. Photo from FlightAware, and a crash site image posted by a BeechTalk user.
  12. Might be N1204X, based on viewing the FlightRadar24 archive. No recent flights for it on FlightAware or ADS-B Exchange, however. FlightRadar24 shows only very brief returns.
  13. A friend is looking for an M20J checkout in Southern California (San Diego or Orange County area) the week of December 4. We have tried the options you would expect, but are hoping to find someone right here on this forum who may be available. He is complex-endorsed but little to no Mooney time (yet). Please PM me if willing and able.
  14. @TrekLawler
  15. Has he had someone operate the cowl flaps on the ground while he watched them from outside to see what they’re actually doing?
  16. How do you do that without a transponder when the LASFR procedure requires the aircraft be equipped as specified in Section 91.215 and be replying on code 1201?
  17. It doesn’t take that much to get the IFR recert done, assuming there’s nothing wrong with the equipment. Some shops charge a flat rate well below half an AMU. It might be worth it to give your ferry pilot more options given the time of year and the mission.
  18. As far as anyone knows, the ownership is the same as in this article, but since then updates have been few and far between. https://www.aopa.org/news-and-media/all-news/2020/september/03/pilots-aircraft-owners-buy-mooney-international

  20. Make sure your torque wrench has been calibrated recently so you know you're using the right numbers.
  21. You left out the MVP-50, which a lot of people really like. https://iflyei.com/product/mvp-50p-engine-monitor/
  22. I would suggest calling Premier at Fort Lauderdale, they might be able to advise or line something like this up.
  23. I have an MSE, which means it has a 28V electrical system like your ‘89, and my Concorde BatteryMinder connectors look exactly like that.
